We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanya Sweetin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanya, why did you pursue a creative career?
I have always loved art, design and fashion. I love creating art pieces, putting clothes together and shopping for interesting objects that can finish a room. It never gets boring!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love painting abstracts. I’m inspired by color, fabric, design and nature. Art creates a feeling,hopefully my art will make you happy or help create a positive vibe. I’m excited and thankful I get to do something that brings me so much fulfillment and joy. I love sharing my work with others. It did take a lot of time and effort to be where I am today. I’m still growing and evolving. I’m very thankful I didn’t give up and push my passion aside. If you love something, pursue it and follow your heart and gut. I’m excited every morning I walk into my art space. It’s a new day and new possibilities that will be created on my canvas. Im grateful for everyday I get to create.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would hit all the locally owned clothing stores, design stores, and go to Local Lime for Mexican and margaritas. Cheers in the heights for a great salmon salad and yaya’s for a filet and glass of wine. There is a great local brewery in Little Rock as well. Arkansas had a lot of natural beauty. Come visit our beautiful lakes, mountains and hiking trails. I promise you will enjoy!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom has always encouraged me to do what I truly love. She has always been my encourager and cheerleader!
