Meet Tamika Bell | Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamika Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamika, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The genesis of Amunet Apothecary stems from a lifelong connection to hair care, health, and wellness, which began in my youth in Harlem. Despite not formally working in the hair industry, my passion has been fueled by continuous networking and staying abreast of natural hair trends, products, styles, and care standards. This immersion has deepened my understanding of the transformative impact of holistic hair care practices.
Health challenges redirected my path away from becoming a professional hairstylist but fueled my commitment to promoting the health and vitality of hair, scalp, and overall well-being. Amunet Apothecary embodies this commitment by offering products crafted with naturally derived ingredients and a dedication to empowering individuals to embrace their natural beauty. Our mission is to foster a community where self-care is celebrated as a cornerstone of personal empowerment and wellness.

What should our readers know about your business?
Amunet Apothecary is more than just a business; it’s a reflection of my lifelong passion for hair care, health, and wellness. What sets us apart is our commitment to using naturally derived ingredients in crafting products that promote self-care and elevate natural beauty.
I’m most proud of how we’ve cultivated a brand that celebrates and nurtures diverse beauty, specifically catering to the unique needs of curls and locs. Our journey hasn’t been easy; health challenges forced me to pivot from my dream of becoming a professional hairstylist. Despite setbacks, I embraced these challenges as opportunities to innovate and educate.
Overcoming these hurdles was a journey of resilience, fueled by the support of my loving husband, Rob, and the community in Phoenix, especially Tina Marie and the Bridge Builder Alliance group. Their mentorship and camaraderie have been invaluable in shaping Amunet Apothecary into what it is today.
The lessons I’ve learned include the importance of perseverance, authenticity, and community. I want the world to know that Amunet Apothecary is more than skincare and hair products; it’s a movement towards embracing natural beauty and self-love. Our brand stands for inclusivity, empowerment, and the belief that self-care is a journey that should be accessible to all.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting Atlanta for a spiritually enriching experience, I would prioritize these three stops for their profound cultural and historical significance
Atlanta Botanical Garden: The botanical garden provides a serene escape with its lush landscapes, especially the Japanese Garden and the Fuqua Orchid Center. It’s a place to connect with nature’s beauty and find inner peace through contemplation and quietude.
Oakland Cemetery: Oakland Cemetery is not just a resting place for Atlanta’s historic figures but also a beautiful garden cemetery with Victorian architecture and serene green spaces. It offers a reflective atmosphere to ponder life, mortality, and the city’s rich history.
These stops offer a blend of historical insight, natural beauty, and quiet contemplation, providing a well-rounded spiritual journey through Atlanta’s cultural landscape.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The journey of launching Amunet Apothecary has been incredibly fulfilling, thanks to the unwavering support of my loving husband, Rob. His encouragement and belief in my vision have been instrumental in every step of this entrepreneurial adventure.
I’m also deeply grateful to our customers back in AZ whose support has helped us grow from the ground up. Your trust and enthusiasm for our products have been invaluable.
A special shoutout to Tina Marie and the Bridge Builder Alliance group in Phoenix. Their mentorship and the sense of community they provide to Black women business owners like myself have been pivotal in navigating the challenges and successes of entrepreneurship.
Thank you all for being part of this journey and for believing in Amunet Apothecary’s mission to elevate crowns through self-care and wellness practices with the best products.
