We had the good fortune of connecting with Tamara Morgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tamara, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
It’s always been in my blood to create. Along with being a CEO, I’m an actress. Surrounded by creative people all the time so there was so much room for inspiration in my life. My whole family has done nothing but CREATE & it naturally came to me. When I had the idea to start my own non-profit business, I immediately thought of women. Then I dug deeper into a bigger problem, which is homelessness. Homeless women who have absolutely nothing, let alone feminine products to cater to their needs & as we know it, Women4Change came to be.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am an actress. I grew up in the entertainment industry. Surrounded by so many talented people with creative spirits & it encouraged me a lot! Everyday I wake up with positive affirmations that inspire me to be better than I was yesterday. I remember being five years old & watching ”That’s So Raven” on TV & running into my parents living room & saying “I wanna be on TV!” Ever since then my parents have worked nonstop to make my dreams come true. Taking off early from work & checking me out from school. As if my dreams never had limits, which they showed me from an early age & I am eternally grateful for them for getting me to the place that I am in my career(s) now. Was it easy? What’s ever easy? If anything was easy in this world, we’d all be getting whatever we want. I’ve had to face discrimination is different ways from race all the way to gender. In my family, nobody was disappointed until you quit. Quitting was never in my vocabulary & that’s exactly why I work as hard as I do. To beat the stereotypes & gender roles. When I stepped into the role of a business owner, I knew my tough skin would be put to use. In the corporate world, women as seen as secretaries or assistances. So, I decided to shake the room & put my foot in the door & putting women as the face of my brand! I want the world to know that I am here to inspire & excel! My brand is here to spread awareness to homeless women here in Atlanta who have less than nothing. Not even enough to take care of themselves. You do not have to go around the world to make a difference!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love ATL so much, I wouldn’t even know where to begin. There are so many places in Atlanta where I would take family & friends. Atlanta has so many cool pockets of restaurants & fun areas. I would first want them to hand out at Ponce City Market. There are many restaurants inside & a belt line that are also filled with restaurants as well. I would take the Playa Bowls which have the most amazing & healthy Açaí bowls & smoothies. Another place I would take a friend would be Atlantic Station with lots of shopping outlets like Forever21, H&M … & even a movie theater & bowling alley!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my village! God comes first as always. My whole entire family including my dad, mom, brothers & sisters, my closest friends, my boyfriend & my whole entire team, especially my manager & my agency. There are so many people who have contributed to my success even the ones who aren’t named!
