We had the good fortune of connecting with Talia Addie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Talia, how do you think about risk?
I think risks are scary but necessary in order to succeed in business. No one wants to stay in the same place forever, we’re all meant to change and grow. Risks help us do both. Me being a business owner today comes from me taking a risk. Risk taking has played a major role in my career as well as my personal life. I took a risk by quitting my job and also by relocating to the west coast area. Both were much needed changes for me and my business. I have not looked back since.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is designing as well as creating looks/garments for people to wear. The looks/garments that I create are created with both style and grace. The ability to create something out of just piles of fabrics still baffles me at times. The process of creating a garment isn’t always easy but seeing the final product on my clients is what I live for. My brand has had the pleasure of being a part of major moments like weddings, engagement parties, birthday festivities with clients wearing my garments. This is something that I’m most proud of and something that I do not take for granted.

I got to the position I’m in today by taking risks and keeping faith. This journey of entrepreneurship is far from easy and requires a strong mindset. I try to listen to encouraging words in addition to reading self-help books, to keep me grounded and level-headed. I also read affirmations to keep my vibes and confidence in order.

While on this journey I’ve learned consistency beats everything, everybody isn’t your friend, and set your price and live your life. I’m still on this journey but so thankful for outlets like these to express myself.

I want the world to know that Talia Addie is a brand that embraces the modern woman by offering, timeless, classic and custom made designs. Pieces are handcrafted exclusively to restore and celebrate inner beauty and modesty within you. In a world full of “reality” tv and social media, Talia Addie is the breath of fresh air that reminds us, it’s still ok to be a classy woman.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to brunch at a restaurant called Castaway in Burbank, Ca. Its a place with good vibes and an amazing view. For dinner I would take her to a restaurant by the name of the Odyssey. It also has a bomb view at night. I would take her to the Improv or Flappers (both comedy clubs) for a drink and good laughs. I’d take her to Beverly Hills to give her inspo and maybe even do a little shopping. I”d take her on a hike at the Runyan Canyon or a walk to the Griffith Observatory so she could get a good workout in as well as take in the view from the top of the mountain. We would end the week with facials and spa for relaxation and to decompress from all of the running we’d been doing previously!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to God first and foremost, without Him this interview wouldn’t be possible. I’d like to also shoutout my boyfriend for being a partner as well as a team mate and assisting me in any way he can. Shoutout to my friends and family for their support while on this journey of entrepreneurship. Last but not least, a huge shoutout to all of my customers and clients, they keep me going and keep my business thriving.
