Hi Taj, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
My main motivation for everything I have done since relocating to Atlanta has been to break the cycle of generational curses and establish myself as one of the pioneering individuals who initiated the creation of generational wealth. This is how I aspire to be remembered by my family members. As for the wider world and my friends, I hope to be remembered as someone who fearlessly pursued their dreams, acknowledged their mistakes, and used them as motivation to improve. I aim to set an example for those who are hesitant to make big changes, start anew, make sacrifices, and ultimately achieve succes

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Tahjér is the name of my business, which specializes in luxury cutlery and offers convenient travel cutlery kits. The inspiration behind starting this company was my concern for the environment. Our primary mission is to contribute to the reduction of single-use plastic while ensuring convenience for our customers. Although we are still in the early stages, having been in business for just a year, we have a lot to look forward to. Starting a new business can be challenging, especially without established role models, but I embrace challenges and eagerly anticipate the growth and success of my brand. One important lesson I have learned so far is the significance of focusing on marketing. While having a good product is essential, it is equally important to ensure that people are aware of it. Currently, my main goal is to raise awareness about Tahjér and educate the world about the negative impact of using plastic cutlery.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friends were to visit, our plan would be to have lunch at Barneys for breakfast, go shopping at Atlantic Station, and attend the Rum Punch Brunch for a lively day party. Alternatively, we could also explore the vibrant nightlife scene and attend exciting parties on Saturday evenings.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have supported me, provided words of encouragement, and believed in me throughout my journey. I would also like to give a special shoutout to my daughter, Nova Hayes, who brings immense joy and brightness to my life. Additionally, I want to acknowledge and appreciate my talented nail technician, Danethia Williams (@melanted_destiny), and my skilled photographer, Marsell (@shotbymarsell). Their contributions have been invaluable to my success and I am truly grateful for their support.
