We had the good fortune of connecting with Sydnee Walker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sydnee, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of @sydatleats is my genuine passion for supporting and showcasing the Atlanta food scene.
Whether I’m highlighting a well known restaurant or a local business, I love showcasing diverse establishments, cultures and culinary talent in and around the city. I will continue to seek out the best spots in the A for my followers and supporters!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started my foodie page as soon as I graduated college in 2021. I was always posting my eats to my personal page, so I figured why not start a page dedicated to food.i didn’t know what to expect, but it took off rather quickly. I’ve been able to work with and build relationships with a plethora of restaurants.
My professional background is in Social Media, so this is second nature to me. I really enjoy creating content and trying new dishes.
A challenge I face is that I work a 9-5 in addition to doing content creation. A lot of creators do this full-time, so they have more flexibility when it comes to attending collabs and events. Sometimes I miss out on a lot due to events taking place during work hours. However, I appreciate those who work with my schedule to allow me to come in after work or on a weekend before it gets busy!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Brunch: Toast on Lenox
Murphy’s
Happy Hour:
Eclipse di Luna
STK
Dinner:
Houston’s
C&S Seafood and Oyster Bar
South City Kitchen
Activities:
Flight Club Atlanta
Puttshack
Your 3rd Spot
The Painted Pin
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, All glory to God. Without Him, this wouldn’t be possible.
Next, I’d like to give a shoutout my parents, Jon and Donna Walker. They are very supportive of my foodie career. Most people don’t know, but my parents are always my first choice for a plus one whenever I have a collab. It’s so much fun to share these experiences with them. From fine dining to hidden gems, it’s a neat experience to be able to share my love for content creation with them.
