Meet Steven Beck | Certified Personal Trainer/ Author/ Actor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Steven Beck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Steven, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When you decide to lead the life of an entrepreneur, you learn early on that risks are simply apart of the territory. Ive learned that the only way to truly grow, is to get uncomfortable. The only way to test your ability to problem solve and measure your level of resilience, is to do the scary thing ! By charting through the unknown, you most likely will find your learning a lesson, whether good or bad, long term it will only better your appreciation for the work at hand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a certified personal trainer/ actor/ and author. At the moment Im most excited about my newly released publication l, “Mind.Muscle. Movement.. A Guided Wellness Journal” This project definitely challenged me to dig deep and appreciate my own journey to where I am in life currently. I like to keep my eyes on the prize and mind my own success, leaving all distractions and outside forces in my peripheral; mainly so im not detoured or anxious about others expectations. I learned recently and had to heavily ingest that God has given me all the tools I need to in order to get where im ultimately meant to be. Everyday I remind myself , as long as I lean into him, I have nothing to worry about. I believe my faith has been the wind behind the sails , and im so grateful and excited to share just how amazing this feeling is through the work I am set to do and put out.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have to be honest, that as of late I have become such a homebody aka a grandpa. I don’t know where the cool spots are,i don’t drink, I keep a pretty routine square lifestyle. However, I do love to eat and my favorite restaurant to get my soul food fix is Southern Fire Kitchen off of Buford Highway. That would be the first stop, and because I would probably have some type of ” big back guilt” the next day I would suggest going to walk up Stone Mountain. I love the outdoors and getting that crisp sometimes hard to take in air that you can only get doing a trail of some type. I would also feel like it makes up for that Mac & cheese I took down the day before. Ultimately, I enjoy laid back environments and outings; so a game night would be last on my to do list. Give me a Giant JENGA set, some uno cards and some type of video game and Im good to go. Any friend of mine knows I give grandpa energy so, they wouldnt expect a turnt up weekend. those days are long gone. haha

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The journey to this space im living in is not without the support of my entire village! My family has been constantly keeping my spirits high and my chin up through many of life’s ups and downs ,while trying to bring all my dreams to fruition. My dear friend Mr. Taroue Brooks, he has held my hand and reminded me just how capable I am through birthing my latest project. For that he deserves a major shoutout!
