We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Richardson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is trusting God who order my steps daily. I live by a motto I heard a long time ago by the great Coach and basketball legend Phil Jackson. He stated “never allow success to go to your head and your failures to your heart”. I do all things unto the Lord and for the Kingdom of God. I love being a humble servant. The success of my brand is living out an authentic and surrendered life to the Father. As Isaiah 1:19 states ” If ye be willing and obedient I shall eat the good of the land. As long as I stay in God I will be successful.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have been employed with UPS Capital for 21 years and have held several positions over the years. I have always been true to me and who God is in me even in the marketplace. I am a person that loves people and let my light shine wherever I am. I started my business in February 2020 called Kingdom Specialist. The name derived from a message I heard over 10 years ago by my Co-pastor Sylvia Carter. When she started saying we all should be Kingdom Specialists when we love the things of God, it hit my spirit so hard and from that point on I have been known as the Kingdom Specialist by my friends and love ones. It is a name I cherish and believe in. I have always had to work hard and overcome obstacles in my life. I grew up in the inner city of Monroeville, Alabama where my dad was a hustler and my mom worked in a factory and substitute teacher. I always was a big dreamer and believed that I could attain anything I put my mind too. I was never an average thinker and always knew I was great because my mom and aunt instilled this in me and they would tell me I could do anything long as I keep God first and work hard. My life is a living testimony of just that. I loved playing basketball when I was growing up and it paved the way for me to go to college and travel the world. I had so many people to tell me I would not make it because I was so short and a female but God had the last say so. I received a full scholarship to University of South Alabama in basketball and in 2013 I was honored and went into the Hall of Fame. Through all the struggles and hardship in school I was able to leave a legacy that Stephanie Richardson the Kingdom Specialist has left her mark. I was able to overcome the challenges in my life because I am very persistent, I don’t give up easily, I know I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me, and my faith has always been great. I simply believe God has equipped and graced me to do all that he has put before me. Another one of my greatest accomplishment was going back to school after 20 years and earning my Masters Degree in Religious Studies from Beulah Height University. It was 2 1/2 years of commitment, dedication, and staying focus on the task at hand to complete the curriculum and receive my degree. My motto was work hard now and play later. The investment will pay off. I have learned so much in my 52 years of living and that if you can believe it, work effectively, network with great people, and have a circle of friends who pushes you to your full potential you can be successful. I also learned that in my failures keep going and learn from the mistakes and know that even in my obstacles that all things do work for the good of those who love the Lord. I want the world to know that I am a Kingdom Specialist that has a love and compassion for people to know Jesus. I will always promote Kingdom and God through my t-shirts, poems, devotionals, and ministry. I live to lift and exhalt the name of Jesus.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take them to a sporting event and a nice restaurant. I love seafood so definitely have to check out Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen and then also have to take them to brunch at one of the newest and great places in East Point called the Breakfast Boys. Have to take them on the MLK tour of the home and museum. We would definitely go to my home church on that Sunday at Siloam Church International and then hit Atlantic Station downtown. If not too tired, also tour the Atlanta Aquarium and finish up at a local seafood spot called the Crab Pot off Old National Hwy. If you love seafood you got to go there and also later in the week I must take them by Annie Laura’s off Hwy 85 and get that delicious soul food with the best peach cobbler in the world.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to first and foremost God who entrusted me with all my assignments, my dearly beloved mother who just transitioned to be with the Lord on June 13, 2022. My Aunt Shelley Johnson has been a mentor and supporter my whole life. I also want to give a shout out to my Pastor Jonathon Carter and Copastor Sylvia Carter and my Siloam Church International Family. I have a great support system of mentors, teachers, friends, and family that have poured into me and prayed for me. I am very gracious for all the amazing love and support God has given me.
