We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stephanie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking well calculated risks have been the very reason I have been able to transition from starting out as a inbound sales rep to starting my own business as a business development consultant. When I recognized my talent for understanding people and their motivations, I knew I wanted to expand beyond traditional sales. I also knew that it would take gaining experience in several areas related to business development in order to establish my skill level. Here is where the risk came in. I took the first leap of faith when I left a very easy position as a inbound sales rep to become an field business dev manager. Changing fields was scary as I had to transition from inbound leads to hunting for business. I also had to take a paycut. I knew long term, opening myself up to learning new skills would pay off. I took several similar risks over the course of 15 years including moving out of my home state twice to expand my skill set and gain expertise. Once I had a solid foundation of experience + skills related to many aspect of business development + proven success, I was able to have the confidence to launch my own consulting business
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I officially left corporate America as a Business Development Exec about six months ago. I am a multi-faceted person so I decided not to limit myself and am involved with multiple business endeavors. My businesses are a consulting firm and a Resale Clothing Business. I am also a brand partner to a wellness brand, PIPCBD. Lastly, I am real estate agent with a specialty in investment properties & home Staging.
From consulting to sustainable wardrobe to wellness to real estate. The overall theme of my businesses is to encourage boss babes to Step Up your wellness, Step Up to challenges, and watch the Glo!✨
My personal and partnership brands are all about Glowing up and becoming the best version of yourself. Whether it’s improving your self care habits, professional image, or business development/ real estate investment strategy. I can help with it all.
The thing that sets me apart is the understanding that all of my businesses are connected. As a working woman, mom, and entrepreneur, it is essential to maintain a strong wellness routine to successfully meet as many demands on my time as possible.
I am still new in business for myself and still learning many lessons but the most important one to learn is to never give up. You adjust, rebrand, adapt, etc. but you don’t quit.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am an Outdoor person so my favorite spot includes Fifth Ward Park, Centennial Park, Cabbagetown, Little Five Points, East Atlanta Village, Krog Tunnel & Street Market.
I love to pop in a support the local hemp/ CBD shops such as Hemp Haven in Decatur, CBD City in Cascade Heights, Peachtree Wellness in Midtown, and more!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to shoutout my mother, Gloria! She is the foundation of Step Up & Glo’ Consulting & Afterglo Resale Therapy LLC. My mother was a hard worker and she always showed me by example that your professional image, hard work, & dedication are essential to moving forward in accomplishing your goals.
