We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephan C. Baity and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephan C., we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When “Pops” passed away. I struggled with out having my father around. In the year of 2020 on Father’s Day I decided to put together a few bottles of his signature seasoning blend and sell them online. They sold out immediately! That’s when Pop’s Secret Seasoning was born. It started off as a way to honor my late father and keep his legacy alive through food. Offering others the experience of family. The great thing about the blends is it takes the guess work out of knowing whether or not your food will taste good.

From there I began to incorporate his blends into my personal chef experiences and chef table courses.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
One of the earliest memories of cooking with my Father “Pops” was when I was a child. He was seasoning dinner and I asked him what it was he was putting on it. His response was it was a secret. He was not a chef….he was a home cook that wanted to provide a flavorful meal for us. I never forgot that conversation. Fast forward unfortunately Pop’s passed away. I struggled with his untimely passing. Some great advice that was given was that I should do something to create a memorial. Hence Pop’s Secret Seasoning was born. This product keeps his legacy alive thru empowering the home cook by creating artisan seasoning blend that covers a variety of flavor profiles.

My personal chef service has been in house hit! Servicing crowds from 2 to 50. Clients enjoy custom designed menus tailored to the clients tastes and budgets. My signature culinary stamp is my food presentation. I hear the phrase all the time “this is too pretty to eat”. Not only should food taste good but it should look the part also.

One of the best advice that I was given is that no one is coming to save you. Sometimes you have to be your own agent of change. It starts with you.

You have to be willing to invest in yourself. Learning, building, and equipping your brand.

If your dream doesn’t require a team you are dreaming too small. We all need people. Just have to make sure that they are the right people.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I dedicate this to my tribe, my family, my team. If you look at the people around you and don’t get inspired you have a prison not a circle. Thank you to everyone for not just telling me what I wanted to hear. That offered correction and instruction. They remind me that rent for my legacy is due everyday. To everyone who speaks my name in rooms that I am not present. To the everyone that wants to see me win!
