We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacie Roby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After working in healthcare and having my own children, as well as myself facing health struggles, I realized that there was a way to provide better care. I started to put together what people were wanting so that I could try to provide better services to our community. I knew from my experiences working in the medical field in different areas that there’s a lack of communication and no one managing care from one doctor to the next. There’s frustration on both the practitioner side and the patient side and I wanted to create a network where providers offer treatments and therapies in their area of expertise and lean on others to collaborate and elevate the health of our clients together. A place where we would all lean on the natural as we’ve found this works better for the body with less complications.

I am putting a system in place to share what we are doing with clients and meet routinely to discuss things to implement from the scans we do. It’s about doing what we love… caring for people and creating a “Healing House” that serves the mind and body. It’s a different way to go about care, but the community is responding and excited that it’s coming together. Every practitioner that I speak with says that they are excited about integrating each other’s talents and being a close team.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love caring for others. I worked rehabilitating brain injuries and then went on to do pediatrics, family health, and work in other areas.

My son had suffered migraines for years… failing both the 6th & 8th grades and didn’t want to fail in high school because of them. We had unsuccessfully tried everything that traditional medicine had to offer, seeing all of the neurologists that we could in the panhandle of Florida and some around Atlanta as well as trying acupuncture and chiropractic treatments. Finally, researching some different ways to attack the migraines naturally showed promise.

Time passed and it was a month, 2, 3, and longer without him experiencing a migraine. This was a game changer as he worried if he would ever have a career with unpredictable migraines popping up so often and taking him out for days. He had a way to stop them at first, not right away, but as we tweaked things (the chemistry is the same as medication and needs to be adjusted) he got relief. We then took down the inflammation and helped things resolve. Finally they were completely gone and we were thrilled.

Not quite a year later, my daughter woke up crying with all of her joints in her body hurting. Pediatricians sent us to Children’s Hospital and we could not find answers. It was something unknown. They tried pain meds but nothing worked. I once again started talking to friends in research and biomedicine and my holistic health courses and found some answers on bringing down candida, toxins, and inflammation in the gut and other organs that showed a big impact. Tests showed that it worked well and we were all astounded and thrilled.

We discovered that this could help other patients even with known disorders, so the work began to help those who were told about me. On a side note, while my daughter was getting better her emotional health got severly worse as the toxins heightened her emotions and she unfortunately ended up in a mental hospital. There again I was directed to some natural things for her gut and for emotional support. The staff said it was great to bring in and they often recommend the adaptogens but hadn’t used essential oils even though they saw lots of promise from research. After her stay they saw that others had great responses with the oils and again more started coming to me to learn what to do.

The journey personally was not easy. I took courses and got certificates while we found answers. There was much praying and leaning on friends as we were worried at times, but what we came to see was that time and time again the different approaches with natural things, even things such as oxygen in hyperbaric chambers, brought changes and relief. Consistently over time the support the natural solutions provided was in leaps and bounds showing in test results. We also didn’t have to worry about concerns of taxing organs that we had with some prescriptions. The doctors were happy and we were relieved.

One key I try to instill in clients is that we control what goes in our homes and in our bodies. Everything physical AND emotional in our health traces back to a nutritional deficit, so we can help our bodies improve just in taking good quality supplements to give the nutrition that we can’t get from food alone any longer.

The second point that I would like to bring up is just as important as the first. Toxins found in the products in our home are causing conditions that we have both emotionally and physically. This became evident in my daughter’s case.

We knew of green cleaning, but some products labeled clean still harm our body. Many parents I would tell to just change these toxic products out and see if it was enough to improve their health and body. If not we would take the next steps. It’s a shame that registered toxins are just reduced knowing that they cause respiratory issues or are endocrine disruptors. The great thing is that we all can make the changes needed. I continue to guide people to know the effects these toxic products can have on the body and how our bodies work so that they can make better choices moving forward without me.

I take pride in the changes that I’ve seen in the clients that I care for and what we will provide as a team in the community of Healing House Mind & Body.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think I would suggest some places I enjoy the setting at and let them pick and choose. Canoe Restaurant, The Garden Room, The Ponce City Market & Rooftop. Prime 120 & downtown Woodstock area shopping & treat at Eden, Rock N Taco in Roswell for fun, and the stops in Roswell. Downtown Alpharetta let them choose to walk in that area. The towns all have a different feel and it’s an environment people love to relax in. If they want to drive to the vineyards in Canton and visit the Mill or go to Dahlonega. There’s different feel to different places depending on the type of person they are and if they want to throw in some hiking places or events there is always something like that as well.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The doctor who first told me to research further on gut health that I worked for Dr Ricky Viator. He was a great inspiration. The others who guided, mentored & worked with me: Debbie Gordon, who works in women’s health & babies; Jade Balden & Dana Worthen in inflammation; Season Johnson, who does so much work in cancer. The people in Woodstock Business Club & the other branches of Canton, Ballground, & Roswell as well as Acworth Connections really helped me make connections to further my work and share the vision I had in putting HHMB together. 1 Million Cups Cherokee also provided me great feedback. Last but not least my mother always believed in me, my children’s health had me find answers that unlocked the path to what I do now, and my husband Jason who is my ROCK.
