We had the good fortune of connecting with Spencer Giorgio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Spencer, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The success of The Azure is due in large to pushing the limits with product design, we are currently on Version III of The Head Hammock. We are constantly taking customer feedback and applying it to applicable updates to our products. This gives us a competitive advantage against other businesses in addition to putting the customer first!
A second degree of success is our aggressive expansion in both the Direct-to-Consumer + Business-to-Business. Having our products physically in businesses sprinkled throughout the world is not only tapping into new markets, but allows us to scale accordingly through wholesale and retailers. It creates brand awareness.
The last key success measurement is finding like-minded brands and influencers to collaborate with. We have worked with several brands that service a similar demographic of customers in addition to influential people online. This has allowed us to reach new customers and legitimizes our brand online with larger brands collaboration.
What should our readers know about your business?
The Azure was sparked in Thailand – refined in Spain – brought to life in Los Angeles – and matured in Atlanta.
What sets The Azure apart from other beach/pool furniture is our constant addiction to unique and bespoke products. We have a fantastic partnership with our vendors, where they help enable our dream + idea and turning it into reality. Having a partnership with your vendor is imperative. This was not easy and I ended up visiting my vendors throughout Asia in the month of June 2024. Having this face time with them and building a personal relationship with the vendors, my shippers, photographers, et cetera, is absolutely key.
This enables The Azure to control + further develop our handmade products, our supply chain, our operations, and our support functions. I am very proud of this because The Azure is only 1.3 years young, yet we are in four countries, 14 retailers, and selling at a high rate online!
The Azure is on a rocket ship to deliver unique products that make relaxation attainable, no matter where one is. Our products are unique ranging from a 3ft. umbrella instead of the traditional 5 – 8 ft. umbrella. Our Head Hammocks are constantly evolving, and our two-piece chairs have been through a wealth of tests to make them the perfect addition to your outdoor life. This would not be possible without meaningful relationships up and down the supply chain.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Azure is brand new to Atlanta, we moved here from Los Angeles in March 2024! I really like the Southern Charm, the food, the people, and the weather. Within the city of Atlanta, spending time at Moonlight in Old Fourth Ward at The Fourth Hotel has been a lovely addition to my life. Amazing staff, views of the city, and groovy vibes! There are nooks and crannies of Atlanta that are presenting themselves to The Azure, whether that is a photoshoot area, a cool bar, or a great restaurant. This city has a lot to offer!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I grew up in an entrepreneur family, which was a huge catalyst in me launching The Azure. My father has several businesses throughout various sectors of the economy, and this has taught me to be flexible in different arenas/businesses in addition to learning transferrable skills. From marketing to operations to sales to strategy, being CE-Everything of The Azure was built into my DNA from my father, my mother(owning her own jewelry company) and my Uncles with their businesses.
My family has been a huge support factor in this including my three siblings. Support is key because being an entrepreneur can get lonely.
