Meet Solomon Ilochi: Web Designer / Developer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Solomon Ilochi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Solomon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I first began, my vision was to create a high-end web design company; something with a strong name behind it. Although I have a long way to go, I think that I’m off to a great start.
What should our readers know about your business?
– Shoko Designs, LLC is a company that creates websites that stand out from the crowd. I’m most proud of people’s reactions when they see their completed websites.
– I got to where I am today mainly through word-of-mouth recommendations. I’ve only recently began to look into online advertising.
– I’m still struggle each day, especially with growth and consistency, however I’m working to overcome this by planning and reading about effective strategies.
– Overall, I’d like the world to know that Shoko Designs will continually improve and shake up the design world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A great place would be the Aviary. It’s a bird sanctuary here in Pittsburgh, and it houses some of the rarest and most exotic birds on the planet. Assuming that we’d have a week, I would plan to visit some of the live shows here, and afterwards, we could check out some of the international restaurants. I really enjoy Ethiopian and Nepalese food.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are a few people and few books that I’d like to shoutout. First and foremost, I’d like to thank my longtime friend and mentor, Mr.George. This man has been a role model since I started 6th grade (2006), and I wouldn’t have made it very far in life without him. Second, I’d like to shoutout my parents. Although we don’t always see eye-to-eye, they’ve always been there when times got rough.
In terms of books, here is a list of ones that have had a profound impact on me:
– “The Young Entrepreneur’s Guide to Starting and Running a Business: Turn Your Ideas Into Money!” by Steve Mariotti
– “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert T. Kiyosaki
– “The Richest Man in Babylon” by George Samuel Clason
– “Boundaries: When to Say Yes, How to Say No” By Dr. Henry Cloud
– “No More Mr.Nice Guy” by Dr. Robert Glover
