We had the good fortune of connecting with SkinKare Bae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SkinKare, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I feel that taking risks are 100% necessary. If I had not taken a risk and bet on myself, I would not have my own product line and skincare suite. Taking risks is what gave me the courage to walk away from what no longer aligns, to create a luxury space that reflects my standards, and to serve clients in a way that actually changes lives. Risk is what turned my passion into a profession, and my brand into a movement.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a licensed Aesthetician and Dark Spot Correction Specialist, but what I do is deeper than just skincare. I created SkinKareBae to be a luxury experience where results come first, and every client feels seen, supported, and taken care of. I specialize in treating hyperpigmentation, especially for Black and brown skin, and I take pride in creating a space where we’re not just getting facials we’re healing, learning, and glowing from the inside out.

My journey started with my own struggles. Dealing with hyperpigmentation at a young age took a real toll on my confidence. I know firsthand how it feels to not recognize your skin or feel beautiful in it. That experience is what fuels my passion today.

It hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to take risks, push through burnout, and believe in myself even when things felt uncertain. But what kept me going was knowing this work is bigger than me. I’m proud of what I’ve built, and the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay aligned with your purpose and keep your standards high. SKB isn’t just a brand. It’s a movement for real results, real confidence, and real luxury for men and women who deserve it all.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be completely honest every time my best friend comes to visit we sit on the couch, order carry out, and enjoy each others company most of the time in silence. We are both moms, business owners, and have a bunch of other responsibilities. If I did make plans we would not follow them because we never do. We always end up sleeping and we say we’ll do it next time and the next time we do the same thing. We work non stop so vacation to us is simply resting.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize my mom and my significant other for always being there when I was struggling with my skin. Their support helped me become SkinKareBae. I also want to dedicate this to every Black girl with a dream.
The ones building in silence, showing up when it’s hard, and creating something out of nothing. You are the blueprint, the backbone, and the vision. Everything I’ve created with SKB is rooted in the belief that we deserve luxury, healing, success, and visibility without compromise.
