We had the good fortune of connecting with Sitch and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am Sitch, an R&B/Pop-Soul music artist and all-around entertainer. I am a music artist who also works as a professional dancer/choreographer and visual artist, so I am proud of the intersectionality I carry with my creative discipline. I am excited to be able to pursue my career while working through graduate school (I cannot WAIT to be done), and I know my passions make me more versatile as a performing artist. I started producing and releasing my own music in 2015, and adopted “Sitch” in 2019 which is when I think things really started to take off. I released my album “LaJane Doe” in 2020 and started performing locally at open mics and showcases, including Carolina Waves. In 2021 I signed to management with 4 Phones Ent, and was able to take my act out of state, performing at conferences and other shows. I also headlined my first concert, The Sitch Experience. Since then, I’ve put out another EP, singles, and even opened for Chrisette Michele in Raleigh! It was definitely not easy, and many times I’ve wanted to hang it all up, but there’s always a little voice inside that says “YOU BETTER NOT”. So, here we are!
My brand is all about stepping outside the box and encompassing the full spectrum of whatever you pursue – identity, artistry, personality… don’t limit yourself. Sitch can serenade a coffee shop or energize a festival; Sitch can sing about love and loss or turning the party; Sitch is unapologetically “Yes, and”. One thing about the “Sitch” brand that folks always recognize: my jerseys. I wear jerseys when I perform as a nod to my “team” mentality – I couldn’t get where I am without my “Newsroom” village – and my nickname origins from my fraternity.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love the EAV area in Atlanta! It’s so casual and has great holes in the wall to take pictures, grab good food, and spend a few hours. I have a good handful of friends who live in Atlanta as well and we often go to Doraville for authentic Asian food or we go to Sweet Hut!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to shout out my family, my mom and sisters, and my boops Selena. Much love to 4 Phones Ent., Post-Grad Blues Crew, my bros, and of course all of The Newsroom.
