We had the good fortune of connecting with Sir Brodie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sir, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’m inspired by individuals who are able to overcome adversity and succeed at achieving their goals and dreams. OVERCOMERS

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Most people are curious to know if my government name is really Sir Brodie. They wonder if I’m just being arrogant. The answer is no to both. The story behind the name comes from my previous background as a account executive in the office equipment industry. I was told by individuals in the entertainment industry that I needed to brand myself. I took that as if I was starting a business and I renamed myself. Which wasn’t what they were talking about. LOL! So how the name Sir came about, was a way to honor my father. On his death bed he gave me instructions on how he wanted things carried out because I was his oldest child. It felt like he was knighting me to be the guardian of our family and our families legacy. So I thought of Sir Lancelot protecting the kingdom for King Arthur and decided to use Sir Brodie as my professional stage name.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
In Atlanta, one of my favorite places to visit is the waterfalls at Amicalola Falls State Park. I’m always in awe with nature. Not to mention it is so peaceful and refreshing away from the stress of everyday living. I also enjoying a day out on the boat in either of the surrounding lakes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Wow, I’ve been blessed to have a large support system from actors, family members, former teammates, and friends from all walks of my life. There are too many to name. But I would definitely like to shout out key individuals from the beginning of my journey. First, Mark Ellis who gave me an opportunity to perform background for the USA Network series Necessary Roughness. This is where I developed an interest in becoming an actor. Once I decided that this was something I wanted to pursue. I reached out to my friend Quincy Bonds who referred my to Dwayne Boyd at Premier Actors’ Network. This is where I received my formal training as an actor. Dwayne is God sent and has been a instrument of change for not only my career but several actors’ careers. Forever grateful! Tune in beginning August 15th to STARZ and catch me in the new hit series HEELS as Charles.
