We had the good fortune of connecting with Simone Merritt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Simone, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
To me, the most important factor behind the success of Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation is a combination of strong community engagement and the unwavering drive and passion of our board members and volunteers.

Their selflessness and commitment to our mission enable us to continue providing vital support to the minority youth in metro Atlanta with our community programs.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
At Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation, our mission is to empower minority youth by providing them with the resources, tools, and skills they need to achieve their full potential in the areas of financial literacy, personal development, professional development, and social skills.

We take pride in our ability to implement our programs in our community. Our financial literacy program has provided 8th-grade students in Metro Atlanta with critical skills for managing their finances effectively. Additionally, over the past two years, our Thanksgiving Program has been able to provide over 5,000 pounds of food to families in need.

We have also been able to establish ourselves as a reliable resource for our community during the holidays with our Angel Tree Toy Giveaway, which allows us to bring joy and support to those who need it the most.

The foundation is built on a vision that encompasses a world where all young people, regardless of race or socio-economic status, can achieve their full potential. By providing access to education, resources, and opportunities, we hope to empower our youth and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.

This foundation is dedicated to enhancing the lives of minority youth by providing access to the resources and skills that are necessary to thrive in our ever-changing society. It’s no secret that young people need guidance and support to achieve their dreams, but it is a responsibility we must all share.

We take our responsibilities seriously and hold ourselves accountable to the youth we serve, our stakeholders and the community.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to thank every volunteer, community partner, and corporate sponsor who has extended passion, time, and funds to the growth of Tomorrow’s Promise Foundation. Your work and support never go unnoticed, and we are extremely thankful.
