Meet Siarra Harris | Luxury Nail & Toe Technician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Siarra Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Siarra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting So fancy Nail bar came from my strive to be my own boss. As a young college student, my financial issues pushed me to start exploring entrepreneurship. I had my fair share of indulging in almost every beauty industry until I found my perfect fit. I’ve done hair, braids, and lashes. I’ve always been extremely creative, therefore nails just seemed to be the perfect niche for me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When it comes to my craft, I am an advocate for the girls who don’t fit in societies standard boxes. I believe you can be a little bit of everything, whenever you feel like expressing that side. This is very transparent with just a glimpse of my content. Some nails sets are girly, classy, edgy, minimalistic, or even over the top extra. The special part about it is that I allow a safe space to jump between all aesthetics.
If anyone was to think this road was easy I’m here to say it isn’t, but is definitely worth it! As an entrepreneur you have slow days, slow months, profit regression, & much more. My advice to anyone with a new business is never let up. Me being my #1 fan has gave me the confidence in my art, & the will to never give up on my brand. It’s all a vision, once you can see yourself at the finish line you have to work your hardest to make that a reality for yourself.
So fancy nail bar is for everyone, I’m not your average nail tech & I take pride in my customers, clients, and supporters, my story is far from finished and I can’t wait till you all see my name on your big screen or my store front down the street from your home!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First and foremost, I’m a karaoke girly! Impulse karaoke lounge is an all time favorite. It’s nothing I love more than drinks, a good bite to eat, and singing all the old r&b classics! That would be the first place. Next of course brunch is mandatory, I would take my friend to EMBR lounge to catch an early vibe before hitting downtown for a fun time. I like to channel my inner kid so next spot would be main event or Andretti’s. Of course have another drink or two, while playing arcade games & bowling. Atlanta nightlife is known for a good time! Opium nightclub would be the wrap of our day. Linking with friends, getting together, looking good and feeling good. The last day would be considered our wind down day. We would wake up to some TD Jake’s podcast or 12Stone, drink some tea and go to a hot yoga class! After class come back home and snuggle up with movies and snacks to end the week off peaceful.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this interview to my amazing parents. My mother, Monique, who is a business owner and Licensed esthetician. There’s nothing I appreciate more than having such a close role model whose steps I can follow in. I hope to have my own storefront and shop one day just like her! I’ll also like to shoutout my father, Edward, who always instilled such determination in me. He is the reason behind my “if I want it, I will have it” mindset. He’s taught me it’s nothing in this world I can’t do & excel in.
