We had the good fortune of connecting with Shy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shy, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The sacrifices one has to make in order to be successful. It’s not always glitz and glam. People assume you make Oprah money when you are on TV when it’s not the case. You have to be smart. Most things are contractual and people are constantly trying to low blow you financially. Many high and lows and lack of stability can be super uncomfortable. This is the Industry where if “Only The Strong Survive” was a person. But with Faith in God and some Ambition you WILL MAKE IT.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I honestly do it all. I act, talk about sports, relationships, pop culture, and celebrity news. What sets me apart from others is my authenticy. I am not afraid to be myself or say what needs to be said. When you are genuine and have confidence people cling on to you. Honestly I started from the mud. When noone would give me the opportunity I would report my own news on my own platform in the streets. I had to validate myself first. It was not easy, but NOTHING THAT IS GREAT comes easy. I overcame the challenges by keeping my eyes on the prize. I’m used to not having and I got tired of losing. I wanted to see what it looked like and felt like to win. And I’m not going to stop until I’m at the Top. I learned along the way that everybody is not your friend. I have had the closest people to me cross me and mistreat me just because I had a different type of light. Once you see the signs and redflags then take heed. Having people around me that were not for me has cost me finances, mental stability, and my peace. Thank God for protecting me, because the journey is already hard enough. I want the world to know that when you look at me, know that if I can do it. You can too. Do not fall victim to your circumstances, but be a hero and champion the cards you were dealt in life. When you see me getting what I worked for just know I had to turn my pain into power.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to view The Marathon Store and eat at Rosco Chicken and Waffles. You can’t come to LA without eating that respectfully. fully.Culture is everything with me. It’s the heartbeat of the city. We also would have to shop at Fashionnova because the rest of the world has to order it online but here in LA they have stores. Anytime you can try on clothes it’s a win and calms my anxiety. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shane Farley has been my rock through this thing. He is an Emmy Award TV Producer and has been nothing but a huge blessing to me. He was my Showrunner on a series I hosted on TMZ No Filter and when I say he whipped me in TOP SHAPE he did just that. You are not going to find too many people as talented as Shane who invest in you, asking for nothing in return. He basically trained me for free. For these reasons alone I am extremely grateful and can’t wait until I get the opportunity to invest back in him.Where I come from you rock with the people,, who rock with you.,You big up the people who big up you. I owe him that if anything. When I get my Syndicated DayTime Talk Show I want Shane to be my ShowRunner. I actually would be honored.
