Hi Shronda, what do you attribute your success to?
I’ve always been a people pleaser. I listen to my clients and make sure that they have an comfortable experience when visiting my shop. I ensure that I give back to the community and provide affordable prices.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
ESSENCE OF BEAUTY LOUNGE, LLC started off as a home based business. I’ve been doing hair for over 15 years. You see it’s a family trait that myself and my sisters do hair. My mom was also a hairstylist. I’m definitely proud of my hustle. My clients don’t know this but I was even making it my business to do house calls when I was homeless. At first I was not consistent.When COVID started I was furloughed from my job. This allowed me to become more focused on my craft. I then created an LLC for my business as well as website to make it more appealing to the clients I serve. The lesson I’ve learned from being a stylist is that you have to be mindful of the company you keep. Lately I’ve been attracting high profile clients and I would like for them to be returning clients so I make sure that the atmosphere is pleasant when they come over to my shop. My brand is my story! When I lost my mom at the age of 15 years old from AIDs I thought my world was over. But , GOD , my son, my family and hair SAVED me. I could have been on drugs or sprung out but it was faith, confidence and consistency that allowed me to be here today. ESSENCE OF BEAUTY LOUNGE, LLC specializes in all aspects of hair. We service children, women and men.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To be honest my favorite chill spot is Lorna’s located in Miami Gardens. The food is amazing. The ambiance is spectacular. The drinks is bomb! Most importantly the staff is friendly.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank God, my immediate family, friends, and definitely my clients for their continued support. If it wasn’t for them I honestly don’t know where I would be.
