We had the good fortune of connecting with Shitaye Morrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shitaye, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success/ the success of my brand is the fact that trials and tribulations from my past is what inspired me to become a risk taker and elevate beyond anything that was meant to hold me back from following my dreams.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a single black woman first, a mother second and hustler at heart. And this is what sets me apart from others. Regardless of all the stipulations set against me, I am determined to be successful. I don’t box myself into one avenue of revenue. I’m creating multiple streams of income so that I am secure in knowing I will never end up back where I started. I am a 3X Self Published Author, I own, a mobile hot dog cart (Tripple D’s Dawgs). I’m also a Non Surgical Body Contouring Technician, I own a Spa in Bellevue, PA, and a shape wear line that is expanding to a Fitness Wear line launching on my bday this year 10/24 (Bodied by Shi). None of this was ever easy, and to be quite honest, it gets harder and harder each year. But its definitely worth it. I’m faced with challenges often but I overcome them by staying focused and following the path God has laid out before me. The biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way is to never give up. Regardless of how tough things may seem, or how overwhelmed I get, I can’t ever GIVE UP! I want the world to know that because of the past traumas that are apart of my story, I am building a brand that will be an inspiration for others to push through their pain and elevate above their traumas.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Im not sure if this question is asking about Atlanta or Pittsburgh?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother. Mary Clark. I am a reflection of who she could have been had she’d not suffered some of the same past traumas I, ironically suffered as well. Except she didn’t have, what she is to me, for herself. I watched my mother endure unimaginable pain and overcome mental, and emotional abuse. She walked away from a marriage with nothing but 3 children and ambition. But that was all she needed to survive. After witnessing her survive, it inspired me to not only escape abuse, and overcome my traumas, but to elevate my life completely and to use my pain as motivation to reach my goals.
