We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherry Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sherry, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
We started to assist grandparents raising grandchildren due to addiction and have expanded to assist all children in the community as well as kids in foster care. Since induction we have implemented a Bags of Love Program, Bundles of Christmas Joy and Birthday Bag Program to give kids the things they need as well as toys, books, games and toiletries.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an interior designer by trade, Nana, mom and wife! I started the non-profit with the intention to help families provide for kids its as simple as that. I help my husband run our construction company and work part time as a substitute teacher for a local vocational high school.

I sometimes get overwhelmed as anyone doing so much, can, I make lists, get volunteers and ask friends and family for help when needed. A great leader asks for help occasionally and delegates.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I enjoy hiking, shopping at local shops, wine tasting, eating at local mom and pop restaurants and spa treatments!

We would love to relax and enjoy nature, while sipping local wines!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have so much support and people who help me! It is hard to pick just one! The kindness and assistance given from Nataniel Lopez and his team at LevelUp Marketing have been remarkable and helped me to create a professional base, networking and make our events successful. The second would be Shantelle Davis at SJ Media consulting as she is there when I need guidance, support and ideas to move forward. Then Kenneth Black at CKB Auto has been a backbone since this was a thought as I turned it into reality! Thank you!!
