We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherante Bryant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sherante, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I am Sherante Bryant owner of T Top Blaze Boutique, I am a wife and mother, and would like to thank my wonderful supporting husband, Timothy Bryant. My work life balance has changed a lot over time as I grew wiser, I started understanding the importance of work life balance. I do remember as parent struggling to find that work life balance when my son who is now 20 was active in almost every sport, my husband and I was at all his games, tournaments, practices, pick-ups drop offs etc all through the work and school week getting in late was challenge. As an entrepreneur I had to put myself on a work schedule time frame for example if my hours are 8-5, I had to discipline myself to cut off work after that time so I can spend time with my husband when gets home from work, family, or even self-care time. I had to learn I can’t give my all to my job or working and have nothing left for my family or myself. I believe the work life balance is so important to your health both mental and physical. Now I try to be intentional and move with purpose in everything I do, I never want to just be busy to be busy with no results. I feel like my work life balance is good now because I understand the importance of it. It is necessary to find the balance because you need down time to recharge, refuel, reset, and not just operate in a grind mentality that will lead to burn out. I am thankful for this opportunity to share my story.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the owner of T Top Blaze Boutique, LLC. We are a online women’s clothing boutique that specialize in tees and blazers. We offer edgy trends for the classy/sassy, grown/sexy women sizes small-xl. I took a leap of faith and left corporate America to pursue my dream. I started this business in 2019 with the intentions of opening a brick and mortar. We launched officially in January 2020 and I would do local pop up shops which I loved because I love networking and meeting people. I am more hands on with my customers, I enjoy talking to them about our products and engaging with them. In March 2020 the world shifted for everyone and became 100% online which was an adjustment, as I stated I love in person sales to be hands on with my customers. It wasn’t easy I had to make adjustments as you do in business or work. I had to build my online presence up to target my customers. I had to learn about videos, ads, reels, etc, that was big for online marketing. The lessons I learned are to never be afraid to make adjustments and changes along the way, change is good and necessary for growth, it will push you out of your comfort zone. Never get comfortable in anything you do, stay teachable. I am still learning new things on this journey as an entrepreneur- business owner. We inspire women through fashion to help them feel beautiful on the inside and outside, we strive for excellent customer service at T Top Blaze Boutique.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Here are few of my favorite places:

Fontaine’s Oyster House
Fogo De Chao
Louisiana Bistreaux
Downtown Decatur Square
