Meet Sheldon Kearse | Photographer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheldon Kearse and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheldon, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career to make art and most importantly have the freedom to create what I want and see through images. Also being able to bring other people’s vision to life through photos.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what keeps me in my own lane with photography is that I do it my way. I don’t try to mimic anyone else. I also think I do well with my clients, I have multiple consistent clients and I build good relationships with them to the point that they 100% trust me with their vision. I’m proud of my accomplishments throughout my journey. Being published on Billboard, having an album cover photo for a major artist, doing just about everything I wanted to do within photography. I got to where I am today just putting in endless amount of work and really trying to perfect photography and get as good as I can with it each time I pick my camera up. I’m always trying to learn new things and figure out ways I can be better. Lessons I’ve learned along the way would probably be don’t rely or expect anyone to help you, if you get lucky you can find somebody that can help but you’ll have to figure out a lot on your own and just be in control of where you are going within your journey.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I say my mom and dad and also my lovely girlfriend Mar deserves a lot of credit with giving me advice and direction when I need it
