Meet Shekeb Sekander | Actor & Reality TV Personality

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shekeb Sekander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shekeb, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk taking is THE moment of a breakthrough towards something out of the ordinary. I strongly believe you should give all you got to a Plan A. Never even think about having a Plan B because subconciously, you’re really manifesting Plan A to fail.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Everyone is gifted with their own special characteristics. Sadly, in this day and age, it fades because we are always comparing oursleves to others which loses our own unique self in the process. Especially in the entertainment industry. I think one thing that truly sets me apart from everyone, well, I KNOW so, is that fact that I stay true to myself at all times and scenarios. I would never morph myself to fit other people’s standards. I’ve always believe we should never beg to be accepted or chase social validation to be recongized in this industry and well, you know, life in general.
I’m really proud of myself for always doing what I set my mind to. Bodybuilding is what really grew me out of my shell. Having to compete in little speedos with your junk exposed to a crowd, it’s an interesting feeling. It brought me alot of confidence and dicipline which was bleeding into all aspects of my life. From there on, I becamed a Linguist for The US Army. We would act out scenarios in simulations to better prepare soldiers for over seas missions and from there I fell in love.. I caught the acting bug. Being anywhere from Tyler Perry Studios, to indie gigs, I love the journey and connecting with people as I climb.
Besides the acting world, I got into reality tv just to honestly, well, try it. I grew up watching both tv, film, and trash tv and always had a life goal to at least be in one reality show. Well, 3 Seasons later in that decision, that show became a hit. I never regret my decision of being on it because of the experience and connections it has bridged me with. I want people to to learn one thing from me and it’s real simple.
Stop putting yourself in a mental prison and go out and do what YOU want to do. People will talk regardless. What matters is your own happiness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best spot to go would be Jeju Sauna. Anything health wellness related would be my go to. End it with delicious Shish Kabobs from Rumi’s kitchen. Just speaking about this is making my mouth water.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to thank my Mother for always being supportive and giving me the “spark” I need to keep going. The wisest words shes always saying is to Move Like A Lightning Bolt, Strike Like A Lightning Bolt. Pretty much, I have adopted this godly saying.
