Meet Sheena Lynne | From homelessness to success how I decided to take my life into my own hands.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheena Lynne and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheena, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I think for me it was applying the same amount of consistency everyday. Rather I have 100 sales or 2. Being consistent when things are not going well is the most important thing.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I released my clothing line back in 2020 in hopes to open conversations in regards to the history we are taught. To open a dialect amongst us so we may develop our own version of history. I think what sets me and Kemet Clothing apart is the fact that I created my own lane, I did not imitate what other clothing lines were selling. I sell what I enjoy wearing and how I enjoy wearing it in hopes I am not the only creative mind brave enough to stand apart from the crowd. I think the most complicated thing about starting anything new is it not being easy. I didn’t have any big time investors or support when I started my line. I made a a lot of mistakes with pricing, shipping and vendors. I was defiantly on a learning curve So I had to learn to take financial losses and make them into lessons on how to proceed. How did I get where I am today?? Was it easy??? I got here by sheer grit. I cut out toxic things people and places from my life. I cultivated my circle with people that believe in me and my vision. That is the biggest takeaway I have for everyone. Cut ties with anything and anyone that does not serve your purpose. That simple thing can change your trajectory.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think overall I would like to shoutout everyone that believed in me when I didn’t. The outpouring of motivation that came for all aspects of my life. Yall are truly the MVPS and the reason my brand and business has reached this moment.
