We had the good fortune of connecting with Shay Aguilar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shay, what do you attribute your success to?
I took back my power. I stopped playing the victim.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a Realtor in Northern California. I am also, a Kundalini Reiki Practitioner.

No part of my journey during the beginning was ever easy. In fact, EVERYTHING was a struggle… the marketing. acquiring clientele, long work hours, attracting less than favorable clients, and difficult transactions. I had to work harder, and jump higher, nothing I did in the beginning ever seemed to work the way it did for others. You name it! If, it was negative… I was attracting it, into my entrepreneurial journey.

It wasn’t until I realized the source of my attraction. On a subconscious level, I was re-playing the need to feel abandoned. I was attached to my story of early childhood abandonment by my father. This need for abandonment made it important for me to give away my power. My subconscious mind was fueling the need to work harder, jump higher, and attract less than favorable clients… I was operating from a space of, “if my own father didn’t care enough to show up when I needed him the most. Why would anyone or anything else?”… So, I made business harder than it needed to be, because of my addiction to feeling abandoned.

The moment I took back my power, by helping the little me heal the void, emptiness, shame, and guilt of not having a father. The flood gates opened. Once, I let go of being the victim! It wasn’t overnight. But, it was almost like the universe opened its arms and welcomed me into a state of flow. I was blessed with the gift of “everything falling into place”. I was introduced to the right people, places, and events you name it.

The most valuable lesson I learned as an early entrepreneur was: to go within in order to make it out. I learned I was the creator of my destiny and, I was creating my own chaos. I learned the importance of healing and releasing past traumas. Most importantly I learned the importance and the power of telling my story. My Story has helped so many fatherless women like me. These women are taking back their power, by releasing the victim they created to survive.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am an introvert by nature. So my ideal place would be a hammock with a cool breeze and a great book.

But of course, I would show my bestie a good time if they ever visited Stockton, CA…

First, we would take a trip to the Miracle Mile and lose our minds shopping at the Trendy Boutique. After a morning full of shopping we would go visit D’lilah’s Cakery no morning is complete without a sweet treat. Next on our list of things to do would be an afternoon at Legendary Coffee and Books in downtown Stockton coffee and books are definitely a must. For Lunch we would hands down have to eat at El Senor Frogs Mexican restaurant. I’m old so before calling Kocktails with Keaks I would need a nap.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

There have been many influential people, books, events, and situations on my journey. I have narrowed it down to the people/events that have made the greatest impact on me as an entrepreneur.

I would like to acknowledge, my struggle with being the product of a single-family home. My absent father left a void in me that prompted a quest to heal the pain his absence left behind. I am thankful to my mom, for showing me love, support, strength, and all things maternal… the best way she knew how and with what she had available to give. She initiated the entrepreneur in me. Family and friends of course are always influential in everyone’s life. (even if they are teaching us, “what NOT to do”)

Programs like: Danny Morel’s (Relentless and Awaken). The movie “The Secret”. Dr. Joe Vitali and his series on Ho’oponopono with Dr. Len.

I am an avid reader. So, to narrow it down.
The following books are my favorites:
What Makes the Great Great, by: Dennis P Kimbro, PhD.,
Vibrate Higher Daily by: Lalah Delia
The Silva Mind Control Method by: Jose Silva
Love God’s Way by: (My Mom) Deron Coplin.
