Meet Shavie Sandoval | Esthetician and Phlebotomist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shavie Sandoval and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shavie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Atlanta, Ga. I grew up in Bowen Homes, a housing community on the west side of Atlanta. And attended Frederick Douglass High School.

Growing up in the inner city to a single mom of 8 kids, in one of Atlanta’s roughest neighborhoods made me everything I am today. It taught what it is to work hard and persevere. It gave me character. It molded me to over come the toughest obstacles that a young black girl can face. It was hard but I wouldn’t go back and change it if I had the chance. It is what makes me special.

What should our readers know about your business?

I own PROFILE Professional Skincare, as a Solo Esthetician. PROFILE is a corrective and results driven skincare company with a focus in chemical peels, micro needling and hydrafacials. My mission is to enhance my clients natural beauty. And to ensure a positive and memorable experience for each and every client through a unique and welcoming atmosphere.

What sets me apart is that I’m the woman behind every post, text and treatment. I’m very personable and I take my relationships with my clients very serious.

I’m most proud of the work that I’ve put in to become the esthetician I am today. With thousands of hours into continued education, I’m always learning. There’s never enough to know about skin and I think that reflects into the work I do. And the results my clients show.

I got to where I am today through trial and error. Im still learning and making mistakes as I go. I wish I can say I had a mentor but honestly google has helped me every step of the way. And no, it has not been easy. I’ve cried many nights out of frustration but in the end, it feels worth it. It shows my passion for what I do.

The lessons I’ve learned is, network and ask questions. Never take NO for an answer. And always do your own research.

I’d like the world to know that PROFILE esthetics is only the first brick I’ve laid to my empire. I plan on being and creating a way bigger brand than what you see today.

I plan on out working my peers to become one of the biggest names in the Beauty industry.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite thing to do is to catch a movie at iPic. Go to the battery and bar hop. My favorite restaurant is C&S Seafood. And I love taking my daughter to Orient Express for Hibachi.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

The Alchemist. A book I read at least twice a year. I take something different from it each time. It’s mainly about having faith that your destiny will manifest.

My siblings. We’re all close and they motivate me to never give up.
My daughter. Nothing I do is for me. Its all for her. So that she’ll never have to face the road blocks that I had to. I pray that my hard work today will hopefully make her life a little bit easier.

Last but not least, my husband. He has believed in me 110%. Even at times I’ve doubted myself. Without his support, PROFILE wouldn’t be what it is.
