We had the good fortune of connecting with ShaunaMa McGee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ShaunaMa, what inspires you?
Inspiration to me is seeing other accomplish and continue to hit goals that I’m working towards. I love being around people who are like minded and can show me that’s it’s possible to do the impossible! What inspires me most of all, are the people who come from where I from, young child learning the world and trying to live through love and passion!
I want to touch the lost people who are just moving through life instead of living life! Some of my inspirations come from my pastors at my home church, my parents making it out the hood and providing for me and my family, my best friend, Thadieus, pushing past all his obstacles and coming through them stronger! Beyoncé and LATTO their music feeds my passion for a lot of things! Ari lennox, Jill Scott, taraji p Henson! Just some top black women I look up to and inspire to be something bigger !

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am ShaunaMa✨ that’s immediately what sets me apart from others I am not anyone else I am who I am and through all that I am a child of God I believe that I will continue to be successful. I will continue to gain clarity understanding, and wisdom through the people that he sends me to the music that I listen to daily through the people that I help even if I don’t know, I’m helping them what I am most proud about is that I am able to have a career that I’m so passionate about then and now I’m super excited to allowing my inner child to grow along with my maturity. The time when work was easy words the time that I didn’t have faith where I didn’t have desire when I didn’t have knowledge when I didn’t have a lot of things now with everything that I do have everything that I will get life gets harder with the more wisdom you have so how have overcome my obstacles I pray I reach out for help and support I sleep I laugh, I sing but most of all I love life like the sun is shining on me even in the darkest days because that’s what you’ve got to do to overcome the challenges. I’ve learned many many many different lessons. The biggest lesson that I have learned recently is to look back with forgiveness and move forward with faith. Faith for me is remembering that life is more than what I see life is more than what I understand. Another lesson that I’ve learned anything that doesn’t make me or my heart smile isn’t something I need to sit with for too long. Yes, I’ve made mistakes. Yes I’ve been sad. Yes I’ve been angry but I had to realize those aren’t feelings that I keep for too long or you’ll live blind, what I want the world to know about me and my brand we’re Essential. Me and my brand are needed. You can try and do it without me or break me down or cut me out, but in the long run, it will only affect you. I’ll plan to shine shine as bright as the sun on a beautiful summer day shine as bright as the moon on a summer night. Either way you know I’m there, and not just for myself but for the world there’s something out there for everyone and I have everything I need inside of me, so super excited to continue to learn, grow and succeed through it all. I’m hoping that I touch and help it inspire a lot of people I want to be essential for myself first and then for the world. Every video or edits I have done them all myself, I love the behind scenes of photography and video clips

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So this is the perfect time to bring up one of the biggest inspiration someone that I’ve looked up to for the last five maybe six years her home is Atlanta. Big Latto!!! so with that being said I’m immediately pulling up to cascade skating rink I’m eating at waffle house. I’m eating and visiting everything motherfucking big it’s giving everything LATTO I’m going, lol I sadly don’t know much about Atlanta. Other than what I’ve learned from Latto and what I’ve seen really big small businesses black owned. it screams black girl magic black love black success I’ve definitely had to do more research beyond lotto when it comes to Atlanta,

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
What is credit and, I would love to recognize my parents and immediately after God, the last year of my life has been the most greatest of all lessons, but the most blessings of my 20 years of living I’ve come across amazing people who genuinely want to push me and push themselves closer to goals closer to the dream I would love to take my best friend for always loving me and always making sure that I’m looking together, I would like to recognize my siblings, Brandy ❤️, Quona, Paul💕☺️, and Shaun💕💕 each and everyone of you carry so much support so differently, but so perfectly and then I would love to shout out the amazing models that I’ve worked with, and I was city, the amazing artist that I’ve had the opportunity to witness perform. Lastly, I’d like to think my skii for being such a fresh breath of air and genuinely supporting guiding me everyone that I just listed above mean so much to not only me but to God everything great I have in my life has come from him every person that’s great comes from him, so I just want to continue to be the example that true genuine love, true genuine support it’s out there. You just got to believe it or receive it.
