We had the good fortune of connecting with Shateece Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shateece, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I had a vision to start Taylored Arts to showcase my artwork, I wanted to also help others with their businesses by creating graphic arts to represent their vision. And to be able to create an income for myself and my children.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I specialize in graphic arts including logos, cover art, flyers and other graphic media, I just realized a tshirt line inspired by recent police brutality events, “My Life Matters”, which represents the individual, it puts a face behind the statement Black Lives Matter. What sets me apart is I am passionate about helping my clients with their business, I want to put my all into helping relay their vision through my art. I make sure to provide excellent customer service and I pride myself on catering to my clients needs and anticipating their wants. I overcome challenges by focusing on my main goal, why I set off to do my passion. One of the many lessons I’ve learned, especially with art and having something to produce, is “Do Not Stop,” don’t ever let your dreams die, don’t stop producing art, don’t stop painting, don’t stop drawing, even when things get hard or if you barely have enough time, make time even if its a small amount time work on your craft, practice and produce. I want the world to know about my story is that even through the toughest times, when you feel like you are failing at life, keep going, keep pushing, keep producing, if something doesn’t work one way, go around and try it another way, try a different door, window or any opening to be able to get through.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my family, my mom, my older brother and twin sister, I call us the Fantastic 4. My mother taught me and my siblings to strive for what you want in life, she demonstrated with hard work, determination and skill you can achieve anything. She taught us to believe in ourselves, no matter what anyone says. We have always had each others back and believe in one anther 100%. As a result of my mom instilling love and encouraging our dreams my siblings and I all have our own business.
