We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Simpson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharon, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I look at risk taking as moving me out of my comfort zone to propel and in a position of soaring in my purpose. When it comes to risk taking, I redirect my fears and perspective of the unknown and convert it into Faith. I live my life through my Faith in God and the Bible. In Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” I have found changing my perspective and my faith have been my pillars in life.

What one would called risk taking has been the most fulfilling element of my life. In 2013, I stepped out on faith and established the Christian Faith Based non profit Women’s organization, I Am A Treasure Ministries and hosted my first Women’s conference, The Unveiling Women’s Movement. It would seem as a risk because I had no experience, but because of me changing my perspective, my faith and a great team, we maxed out with 250 women, Fast forward to today, I Am A Treasure Ministries is reaching and making an impact around the world and The Unveiling Women’s Movement is sold out everywhere with over 450 women. My passion and purpose is to inspire all women to know the value, celebrate the treasure within, live a wholesome life and to provide a support and sisterhood community. Also, to strengthening their inner self and mental health, to be empowered, equipped, to live in freedom, and build a closer relationship with God through what the Word of God says and not their past or situation. The result of this major risk taking has transformed and enhanced my life and so many men and women.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the President and Founder of the Faith Based Non-Profit Organization, I Am Treasure Ministries, Inc. and the conference host of The Unveiling Women’s Movement® , based out of Ft. Worth, Texas since 2013. Our mission is to inspire all women to know and believe in their value and to live a wholesome life through spiritual and practical resources. We with the guidance of God are empowering women with strength and courage to overcome life challenges and soar in greatness!

This organization was birthed from the healing process of my past, of me once appearing whole on the outside but on the inside I was still unsure of my value and did not know my purpose, so I constantly look for validation. I also was a teenage mother at the age of 14. Finally God sent women in life telling me they needed me to step forward to tell my story and be an example. I believe what sets me apart is my transparency, my sensitivity and compassion for women. I am most excited about the women lives that are transformed, empowered and the sister friends bonding when they experience the events of I Am A Treasure Ministries and the annual The Unveiling Women’s Movement®.

I honestly have to say it was not easy, but it was and is so worth it. I have encountered a great deal of rejection and made mistakes of my own, but thank God for the Reslience he placed inside of me and close family and friends around me, to remind me I could not quit. So I in return encourage other women to Reclaim their Resilience. That is the reward and that is what blesses my soul and warms my heart. I overcame the challenges through prayer, my relationship with God, my parents, my two sons, my husband and mentor. I overcame the challenges through prayer, my relationship with God, my parents, my two sons, my husband and mentor. One of my favorite scriptures that encourage me to stay focus and gave me strength was, Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

The lessons that I have learned along the way are we are not alone and that passion and purpose is to inspire others to find power in their voice and to be confident in saying, “I Am A Treasure”, no matter their past and to live on purpose for the purpose they were created to be. The past is the past and to know our past was the pathway to our promise and purpose. Our founding scripture is Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

We have hosted annually The Unveiling Women’s Movement® since 2013. We begin during the COVID-19 pandemic hosting virtually The Living In Color Sisters Circle and The Reslience Woman Spotlight. One of the greatest missions of I Am A Treasure Ministries is our Treasure Box of Love Outreach where we serve the community one on one by providing essential needs, foods, clothing and school supplies. I am super excited and honored that I on the behalf of our organization, I Am A Treasure Ministries, received on August 31, 2021, The DFW Federal Executive (FEB) Public Service Awards

“Community Service Award Winner: Sharon Simpson”. For Extraordinary contribution in community service which demonstrates in committment in improving the lives of others. I am passionate of women being whole from the inside out and I am committed to do whatever I can to be their biggest cheerleader. I Am A Treasure Ministries and The Unveiling Women’s Movement® mission is to continue to provide individual and community services, a support system of engagement, quality resources, mentorship, quarterly and annual events: spiritual, mental, physical, and social, focusing on the whole person, that will encourage, inspire and enhance spiritual and, professional and personal leadership and development for women and girls. Providing an uplifting, safe environment and no judgment community.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would first take my best friend to a Mexican Restaurant, which is my favorite food. We will go and get massages, pedicures and then shopping, shopping and shopping. To have fun we will go roller skating and bowling. I love love family and they are the most exciting people to me.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I first and always give recognition to God, because without his love and my faith in him, I would not even know where I would be. My mother and father have always been pillars in my life. Being a teenage mom at the age of 14, when so many people immediately counted me out, but mother, father and sister were my support and my pushers to change my perspective, square my shoulders, lift my head and move forward to be the amazing woman I was created to be. My husband, Lonnie Simpson and my sons are my reasons that I can never give up. I have been blessed to have an amazing mentor for over 30 years and amazing sister friends.
