We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharisse Sheppard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharisse, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
The most important thing I have done as a parent is to begin “living” my life and stop merely just existing. As a mother I want to show my children by my actions not only my words. Michelle Obama said something that I apply to my motherhood journey “I want them to see a mother who loves them dearly, who invests in them but who also invests in herself” My kids are watching me daily so learning how to take care of myself mentally, emotionally and physically is the most important thing I do for my children,

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
As a Realtor here in Atlanta they come a dime a dozen; however what sets me apart is my motivation. I am building my business as a testimony to what obedience and faith will get you, It is not just selling a house or helping someone buy a house. It is about allowing God to use me to spread his love; whether it is through an encouraging word to the buyer who is frustrated because their offers keep not getting accepted or connecting a person who did not think homeownership was possible to the right lender who has the right programs to fit their needs, Being a new entrepreneur I know there will be many more challenges to come but for me in order to overcome them I just have to keep going, My business plan begins and ends with prayer period!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Honestly if my best friend was coming to visit I would call my friend Dina to get the itinerary lol.. She knows all the good spots and how to always have a good time. I defiantly do like to eat so some food places would be brunch at Breakfast at Barney’s, I am Jamaican so I am hitting up Spice House or Roc South.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my business in real estate to my uncle Odel Burke who unfortunately passed away in August 2020. He always wanted financial success and freedom for me but at the time my mindset was not able to see nor understand the endless possibilities life has for me. Since I have started my business I know that everything begins in my mind, in my thoughts, in my words/what I am believing. I affirm positive abundance in my life daily through Jesus Christ.
