Meet Shari Thornes | Six Figure Business Coach & Book Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shari Thornes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shari, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Jacksonville Florida, born and raised. Growing up wasn’t easy for me. Dealing with youth depression and sexual abuse, I felt like all odds were against me. However my parents always spoke positive and told me I could be anything in the world I wanted to be and that is something that always stuck with me. I am who I am today because of them, especially my stepmother. She taught me a lot.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart in this business is that no one helped me in the beginning. I didn’t have a business coach or mentor. I also faced a few challenges during my start up however I didn’t quit! I never gave up! It took me five years to make my first 100k. I am extremely proud of myself. I barely slept and I always found ways to elevate and re-create! I learned to never give up! Keep pushing because there will always be Someone who’s watching that you’re motivating to not give up as well!
I proudly call myself the six-figure Felon. Because even though I ran into a little trouble as a teenager I turned my life around and I showed others that no matter what your circumstances are God will always turn it around and make a way!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Believe it or not I’m all about my business! I don’t hang out I don’t party I don’t go to clubs. I barely eat out. I’m old-school. I cook work and take care home. I do a lot of traveling. Traveling the world is my version of work hard play hard! If my friends want to see me they have to book a flight because that’s where I’ll be! Lol In the air somewhere.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shout out would have to go to James Scott Jr. He’s a Book Author & Owner of an aquarium maintenance business called aquatic Wonders here in Atlanta Georgia. When I first moved here to Atlanta I didn’t have any friends nor did I know anyone. He’s someone that has always been positive and motivational throughout my journey. A few business tips here and there helped my business grow tremendously and I owe it all to him. Sometimes in life we think we’re doing our best but it takes that one person to come in our life and show us exactly what we were missing. He even taught me how to brand myself correctly. And for those reasons I am thankful.
