We had the good fortune of connecting with Shareece Cannonier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shareece, how does your business help the community?
In a world where we are inundated with negative viral news, I believe in my Spirit Soul Sense brand being one of the bright spots on the internet helping people heal and thrive. I am grateful for the countless positive comments expressing how someone learned how to talk more positively to themselves, leave an abusive relationship, or travel solo.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my YouTube channel in 2019 after being hesitant for about a year due to fear of people seeing a different side of me. But after ending a toxic relationship, I had a surge of creativity that I couldn’t help but express. During this time I also self-published my poetry book called “Dream Girl” and started selling prints of my paintings. My psychology background combined with my spirituality framed my approach to telling my story and creating content to inform and teach about how to evolve one’s soul. Despite it taking five years to monetize my channel, I am extremely proud that my authenticity and expertise has reached tens of thousands of women who were also navigating ending toxic relationships. Throughout this process, I’ve learned practical information about marketing, tailoring your brand story, and deeper life lessons related to trusting God’s vision for my life and being disciplined even when I was not able to see the fruits of my labor. My hope for anyone who comes across my content is to feel inspired to live in truth and reach for the light so they can also live their very best life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has soooo much history and things to do, but if you only fit in a week of activities,I’d recommend going to downtown Atlanta to visit the Georgia Aquarium and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Combine a visit to the Atlanta Botanical Garden with a walk through Piedmont Park. The Atlanta Beltline near Krog Street Market one day and then Ponce City Market another day for good vibes and good food. Great views are also available after climbing Stone Mountain Park. My favorite tea (coffee) shop is Saint Germain. Go to the Buckhead location for shopping at fancy stores. Have lunch at Canoe and dinner at Ecco and Verdure. I’m still exploring vegan restaurants, but I highly recommend La Semilla and Cafe Sunflower.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Pursuing my dream of being a psychologist would not have been possible without my mother’s love and support. Then, growing as a young woman and student was also supported by my mentors Dr. Aletha Baumann and Dr. Vanere Goodwin. I learned to let go of overthinking with the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle and my whole life changed when I read “Women Who Love Too Much” by Robin Norwood.
