We had the good fortune of connecting with Shantina Lynet’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shantina, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I enjoy being in control of my own time, energy, money, and schedule. This is true freedom. Plus, I’m 100% committed to becoming my best self, so consequently, I want whoever I work for/with to want to see me at my best. Working for myself and being able to choose who I work with makes that possible.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think I’m most proud of the fact that I’m still doing what I love after all of this time. Ive been a singer since i was 4 years old, and an artist since around 2012. In that time, Ive seen a lot of people give up on dreams like these. I see people wish they would’ve continued to pursue what they love (even if it isn’t music). So the fact that I’ve been sustained long enough to not only see the results of my labor, but to really experience the true freedom and abundance my field has to offer is really a divine blessing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m still a bit new to Atlanta, but in my time here a few places I’ve enjoyed were Feels Atlanta (live music venue), Krog Street Market (soooo many amazing places to eat), Toast on Lennox, Cafe Social House, Atlantic Station, and even the Benz Stadium. My list is gonna continue to grow, but these places have made a great impression on me so far!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
God is always number one! Because of God, I’ve had the opportunity to cross paths with some amazing individuals who inspire me! I’d like to shoutout my very first creative team G. O. L. (which stands for Gang Over Luv). Without them, I don’t think I’d even be an artist today. Shoutout to my family overall, but especially my sisters, because they always provide a space for me to be myself. Shoutout to my manager Lyrical, who to me was one of the first people in the industry to really take a chance on me as a solo artist based on referral. Again though, all of these individuals are just a reflection of God and his divine purpose over my life.
