We had the good fortune of connecting with Shante Brooks and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shante, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process was literally about dominating the world with the mission behind my business. It was to make it where everyone only used my services only and also I wanted to be able to generate a handsome amount of wealth so I can give back to everyone who helped me on my journey

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’ve been creating my art since 1996 and I started out in different phases from portraits to landscapes and symbols and then different forms of abstract colors and techniques. What sets me apart, is more so the story behind it and the business psychology as well. All of my art was made out of the feeling of abandonment and hopelessness combined with the desperate need to change the perception of the world through the psychological process of colors I choose in my paintings. Plus also I feel no attachment to them, when I create its always comes from a place as I’m making this for someone in a sense I visualize me constantly doing a commissioned piece instead of just creating something I like . Everything I’m creating is for someone else, that’s the only way I can uplift the psychology of the world, is by expressing the creativity and not holding it in. I’m most excited about how much more is in store that I’m going to produce out of me and also how many souls have my paintings/messages in their homes. I got where I am by constantly investing into my self belief. That meant creating outrageously, putting myself in very interesting situations to generate the intensity for the story of the painting. It was supposed to be extremely difficult, that is what gives the art its depth. But yes it was easy , all I had to do was just put it out there and not hold back. I learned along the way that every adventure or every circumstance I come across, is a masterpiece to hang up in someone’s home. So I have to take full advantage of everything. I want the world to know that I am coming to uplift it and make it extremely uncomfortable and to push boundaries and break limits and make growth super natural instead of something to shy away from. I’m here to prove that change and letting go or being detached from yourself , are all great and beautiful things . I’m here to share my world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m extremely adventurous and athletic I would take them to Stone Mountain park and also to some bike riding trails I don’t eat out a lot, so everything is home cooked but I would introduce them to local farmers market in the area

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to honestly give myself credit more than anyone else. I have had lots of support and encouragement but none of it would have meant anything if I hadn’t had the relationship with myself, to keep persevering, even when it seems like it’s all for nothing
