Hi Shaniqua, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success as a makeup artist and my brand is a combination of skill, creativity, consistent practice, and exceptional customer service. My ability to showcase unique and appealing makeup styles, adapt to various trends, and provide a satisfying experience for my clients contributes significantly to building a successful brand in the competitive makeup industry. Additionally, effective marketing, networking, and cultivating a loyal customer base play crucial roles in establishing a thriving makeup artistry career and brand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My motivation to become a makeup artist stemmed from a period of unhappiness in my life. Makeup became my canvas for expressing happiness and creativity. Immersing myself in YouTube tutorials and building my product collection, I began creating videos and promoting my work. Over time, I achieved incredible milestones: contributing to a major movie premiere like Sparkle, showcasing my art in numerous prestigious fashion shows across major cities, and building cherished memories with my own dedicated clientele. Celebrating my two-year anniversary as a successful LLC is a testament to the resilience and determination that propelled me through challenges, bringing me to this rewarding point in my journey—a journey that continues with unwavering passion and determination.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friend visits the area, I’d make sure they experience the perfect blend of excitement and flavors. We’d kick off the adventure at Top Golf, where we’d swing clubs and enjoy some friendly competition. Next, we’d rev up the fun at New Jersey’s biggest go-kart park, feeling the adrenaline as we zoom around the track. To satisfy our taste buds, we’d indulge in the finest hibachi spots and savor soulful dishes, filling our hearts and stomachs with delightful flavors. And of course, a trip to the shore would be incomplete without experiencing the vibrant nightspots and the soothing ambiance of the water—a perfect ending to our unforgettable journey!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to give a special shoutout to my amazing kids who have been my unwavering support system throughout my journey as a makeup artist. Their love, encouragement, and understanding have fueled my passion and kept me motivated to pursue my dreams. Thank you for being my biggest cheerleaders and a constant source of inspiration.
