Hi Shanice, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“You don’t have be great to start, you just have to start to be great” – Zig Ziglar This is a quote written on my dry erase board to read every morning. It is a constant reminder that I am evolving daily into the person I want to be & growing into the business success I desire have, but you have to start small & grow big.

What should our readers know about your business?
Nice Scent Candle Company is where the Atlanta culture is expressed via luxury scents. What sets us apart from other brands is that decided to dedicate our line to the city of Atlanta and name each scent after the areas (cities, streets, etc.) that surround metro Atlanta. Our brand aesthetic is gender friendly with the all black & gold look, as men too feel a connection to our candles/products because they don’t look like they are just for women. I decided to use a biodegradable pure soy bean wax in my brand because luxury should also align with healthy in my eyes. Soy wax burns slower & cleaner than paraffin wax used in the leading competitors’ candles, which means my customers will have a longer lasting, non-toxic burn with any candle from my line. I created thia brand because felt it was time for the Atlanta culture to be associated with luxury scents, to drive the knowledge of what cities, landmarks, & streets surrounding the Atlanta area contribute to the name and culture Atlanta has established for itself. As Atlanta has been deemed as the Mecca for so many historic influences on the world, it was befitting to develop a brand that enhances the memory of the city’s identity via scent.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My go to is Ponce City Market when someone comes in town! You can eat, drink, & have fun on “The Roof” & play some adult carnival games while watching over the city! My go food spots are Bar Taco, Slutty Vegan, & Eclipse de Luna. I love diversity in food & Atlanta definitely has that!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to shoutout all of my mentors through the years that have helped mold me into the business women I am today!
