We had the good fortune of connecting with Shandrea Natae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shandrea, how do you think about risk?
I used to be very cautious when it came to taking risk. I would be very fearful and afraid, I later learned that risk (when taken) aren’t always a bad thing. See when you learn to be mindful and use wisdom and discernment, when you take risk in life, you’ll never regret them. Risk had played a major role in my life as well as me embarking on my creative endeavors. When I took a risk on my creative side, it opened me up to a new person, a new me. I didn’t realize who I was or that I could be this amazing person. Taking risk has made me fearless, taking risk has made me strong.. taking risk as made me this bold woman.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creativity is how I’ve learned to navigate who I am, creativity has become my outlet. Being the Founder of not one but two brands (S.H.E &Co. and A Minute With Coretta) has been the scope of me, the growth of me and the depth of me. These brands excite me! A Minute With Coretta gets to the meat of who I am “Real,Truth,Sound” is what I come with. Its who I am, its who I’ve become. I get to share my truth with others I get to share my uniqueness with others I get to allow others to hear my sound which sets me apart. Honestly I have to thank God, my support, college, and past work endeavors for getting me to where I am today professionally. Without those people and those places I wouldn’t carry myself with the pose that I do, I wouldn’t stand with my shoulders up, I wouldn’t know the me that you all get to see and eventually know. I’ve learned a great deal on my journey, the biggest thing I’ve learned is to NEVER QUIT ON MYSELF. See I struggled with believing in me, struggled with knowing the power that I hold and knowing who I am. When I discovered my power, I was determined to never allow myself to sit so low that I can’t see up high. I want the world around me to “Know my Truth, Embrace my Realness and Love my Sound.”

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As crazy as it may sound I couldn’t even give y’all an itinerary lol. I’m literally a just go with the flow kind of day. My best friend and I are literally the same lol we go with the day.. I guess we’d more than likely eat at a rooftop spot downtown Atlanta! Hit up piedmont park! Hit up the history museum (we love a good history lesson lol) then we’d more than likely go to a lounge downtown for a nighttime vibe. Or we’d create the vibe at home lol, we some homebodies don’t judge us

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
During my creative endeavor I’ve had a long line of support. I have God of course to thank for blessing me with the support that he’s given me. I would also like to shoutout all of my bonus moms, my best friends, my dad, my siblings and of course one that I can’t touch but carry her with me, my grandmother. See all of these people (they know who they are) have seen me up high and they’ve seen me low, and yet they still loved me, they didn’t give up on me and they wouldn’t allow me to give up on me. Things aren’t always perfect but for them, I owe them. I do what I do because of my support.
