We had the good fortune of connecting with Shalonda Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shalonda, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When I embarked on my entrepreneurial journey, I initially believed that success meant working long hours. However, I soon realized that true success lies in achieving a balance between work and personal life. I’ve found that dedicating time to activities I enjoy actually boosts my business’s growth. For me, balance means understanding what’s essential for my business and clients, as well as what I need to maintain my well-being. Whether it’s taking breaks to reset my space or carving out quiet mornings, I prioritize four key categories each day: what’s important, required, brings me joy, and aligns with my goals. This approach ensures I stay on top of work commitments while also enjoying life to the fullest.

What should our readers know about your business?
As the owner of Elite Closers, an international Transaction Coordination Company, my journey from a small town in Virginia as a young African-American woman wasn’t something I envisioned in my youth. While I always had aspirations for success, the extent of where I am today surpassed my expectations. Stepping into this industry, I noticed a significant absence of individuals who resembled me in age and background, particularly in terms of success. That realization became a catalyst for change.

I wanted to carve a path that not only proved that success knows no boundaries but also served as inspiration for my niece and other young individuals, regardless of their origins. My mission extended beyond personal achievement; I aimed to demonstrate that persistence is key, even when faced with challenges. I’m passionate about what I do because every day presents an opportunity to assist others, granting them valuable time and resources to navigate their own paths to success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The Roswell Mill holds a special place in my heart—it’s my favorite spot to unwind and connect with nature. Whenever I visit, I find solace in wandering along the hiking trails and settling by the riverbank, where I can immerse myself in the soothing sounds of the rushing rapids. There’s something incredibly peaceful about being surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors, and the Roswell Mill offers the perfect sanctuary for moments of quiet reflection and relaxation.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Acknowledging the influence of others on your journey is important, but if I were to single out one person, it would be God. I attribute my success to divine guidance, as I’ve been placed in numerous advantageous situations and connected with key individuals who have propelled me forward. My parents, for instance, instilled in me a strong work ethic from an early age, while my friend CJ has been a constant source of support, patiently listening to my ideas and aiding me in refining them. Without God’s presence in my life, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
