We had the good fortune of connecting with Shadavea Pollydore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shadavea, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I was tired of working for someone! Getting told what to do, when to do it how to do it. I knew I had a purpose in life but at the time I didn’t know what it was. Until October 1, 2020 came around, my friend needed a flyer for her business. Anyone who knows me, knows I love art, creating art & helping others out. So I created a flyer for her & something clicked in my head about starting my own graphic design business & the rest was history <3 (:

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My creative process comes from my clients. When it comes to my business, I’m all about making sure my clients are receiving the best customer service & their visions are coming to life. I love making them happy, I love hearing them say what they want & I actually bring it to life for them! All of my clients are different when it comes to their style, so it brings a lot of versatility to the designs I create for them. Sometimes it can get overwhelming, I get a creative block sometimes & feel like maybe this isn’t for me. But then I look back at the reviews my customers left & the designs I created in the past & I realize this is meant for me! Never give up!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta has so many hidden gems in the city, it’s crazy! I would definitely take them out to eat at “No Mas Cantina” one of my favorite Mexican restaurants on Peter St. Take them to the mall of Georgia since it’s the largest mall out here end the night at Blue Flames.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to shout-out my sister Shyla! She definitely played a huge part in getting my business started. She trusted me to create designs for her business “ShopShyDior” not only that but she told others who told others which helped me to build up me client list within a couple of month starting. I love her for that always! Also my boyfriend dyresse, he’s always so supportive with anything I do. I literally ask him for advice about everything.
