We had the good fortune of connecting with Sevin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sevin, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always been an outside of the box thinker. I ran an online radio station by myself for 12 years and it was fun but didn’t fulfill who I wanted to be. My grandmother transistioned in 2015 and I went through it emotionally and mentally. I spiritually got a message through a tarot reading to become a healer like my whole mother’s side was and is so I took that message. So for 7 years, I have worked hard to push, improve, and promote Comfortable Soaks. Healing naturally. My logo is a mesh up of my memories of my Gram, her image, my mother and myself. A natural Aboriginal woman taking time out to care for herself by soaking in a luxurious tub. I started out with 3 essential oils and now I have over 100 different holistic, spiritual products.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am most proud of my fortitude. Owning a business is not by far easy at all. Sleepless nights, crazy customers, worrying about making ends meet but in the long run, if you love what you do it is all worth it. I have learned to keep going, ask for help, take criticism and be creative. I want the world to know that Comfortable Soaks was created for healing by someone that needed healing and chose to heal the world. I have dedicated my life to help people who don’t know they need help or don’t know how to ask.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Pittsburgh is an eclectic city. Breakfast at Gramma B’s in the Hill District.
Lunch at Primanti’s.
Dinner at Mineo’s Pizza.
Depending on weather, hit up the Point to see the fountain.
For pics, go to the Mount Washington overlook.
Shopping at Gabe’s for the good discounts.
Hit up karaoke with DJ Kanti Kasa.
Go to a Steeler game.
For good drinks, Art’s in the Strip District.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My grandmother, Virginia Claudette Whitt and my mother Laurena Townsend. Gram for sending me protection, positive energy, the fortitude to make my own way and my heritage. My mama for always supporting my goals, entrepreneurship and showing me the epitome of a strong Copper Colored woman. Special shout out to my squad, South Side Family especially my big sister, R. Thank you for pushing me to be the best me in every aspect.
