We had the good fortune of connecting with Sencere M. Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sencere M., is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success/brand is the support I get from my family. They push me to be the greatest ME. There have been so many times where I felt that I was all alone with trying to figure out the next steps but was able to turn to them for help and support. They have and continue to play such a huge role in my journey to success and nothing that I’ve done would have been possible without them. A great teacher makes a great student, but students can sometimes lack the motivation that comes with having a great support system. They have always kept my head on straight and have taught me everything I know; always have faith in GOD, always work hard, stay patient and never get too comfortable. It’s groomed me to know and understand that these tools are forever with me and can constantly be used to reset and elevate. Without their prayers and guidance, this journey would be a lot more complicated so I’m always thankful for my family who are the most important factor to my road to success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is my creativity! I’m an 18yr old that acts, model, dance/entertain, write poetry, produce clothing fashion designs and heavily enjoy playing basketball and making music in my leisure. With any opportunity I’m given, I enjoy creating something that uniquely describes who I am as a person and how I distinctly discover and convey it in a way to be perceived correctly with the audience. It’s like being given a blank canvas and painting your personal expressions to share with hopes that it’s interpreted just as you intended. If others are emotionally touched or can relate to something I’ve done, it’s more than rewarding but provides satisfaction and reassures me just how special my talents are. It’s my desire to always bring life to something that didn’t exist before.

As an Actor, I use my imagination to step into different worlds of reality to become different people. I may have to undergo the trauma endured by a character, explore what brings them joy, find things that give them hope or the thing that broke them down. These highs and lows are all studied and added into every performance to provide a compelling experience with viewers.
As an Entertainer, my creativity is what makes me connect with people in a more ‘real-time’ manner. Whether I’m on-stage performing theater or hosting/dancing, just to look out into the crowd and see them vibing or interacting with something they enjoy is a natural high. I’m always thinking of how I can make the moment unforgettable, not just for me but for all who is watching and those who will hear about the performance.
As a model, the creativity to present and bring to one’s attention with only body movement and expressions without saying a single word can be one of the most captivating skills to master. You’re instantly a magnetic to viewers to demonstrate how you’re feeling, where you’re going and what you stand for or believe.

The suite of talents I possess is what makes me uniquely different and gives me the leverage to not only live in who I am but to always be open to trying new things. The more talents you have, the more failures one may encounter but this has helped to mold and shape me in the person I am today. I’ve been told ‘NO’ a lot but it’s the ‘YES’ that keeps me going. It was instilled in me to not look at rejections as a huge ‘let down’ and believe in the ‘NO” as ‘NOT YET’. I am most proud when I sit back and take in how much I’ve accomplished at such a young age. The fact that I never gave up when it felt like all the hard work wasn’t being noticed. It wasn’t at all easy, but it also wasn’t a hell storm either looking back on it. I would have never been able to bear witness to the things I’m seeing now if I had given up. Hardwork, consistency and faith are the things that help me to hold my head back up when I start to feel weary and frustrated. Learning to be in love with the progress make obstacles easier to face.

When it’s all said and done, I want the world to know my story and what it took for me to become successful. It started with that 6-yr old kid who loved putting on shows to entertain others at parties and talent shows. Even that same kid who would play pretend while dressing up just to take photos like some of my favorite celebrities. With that same energy and now determination, GOD has made it clear to me through my accomplishments and visions that the future that I’ve dreamed of remains to be obtainable. As long as I continue to focus on HIM, believe in myself and stay fostering these talents that he’s blessed me, these very same talents that I’ve loved since a kid can provide another way of living for my family and put me in positions to help others.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m really a home body and enjoy spending majority of my time at home with family when I’m not working. If I had guest visiting for the weekend, we would kick things off with enjoying quality time and good food at my house with family. In need of some fresh air, I would take her for a natural walk at Sweet Water Creek Park, West of Atlanta. Atlantic Station is one of my favorite places to shop so I would take her there to browse around a few and eating of one of spots on that side of town, ‘The Hungry AF ‘. Last on the list would be a one stop shop, ‘The Battery of Atlanta’, this place is loaded with several food and entrainment options. If that isn’t enough, we would catch a Braves’ game at the newly built Truist Park which sits in the center of the Battery.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My biggest shout out goes to God…All glory to the man above! He’s blessed me with such beautiful talents and an amazing family to help me alone the way. HIS favor continues to make my path clearer and clearer each day. At times, I’m reminded that the biggest obstacle that can stand in my way is MYSELF. Taking the time to learn myself, exploring new methods and techniques to better my crafts and figuring out how these things can contribute to my personal goals are some of the things that provide me with clarity.
Secondly, a huge shout out to all my family members who have always been my biggest supporters. It’s been said that when you’re on stage there’s only one person that someone looks for in the entire audience but for me, it’s my family and friends. The kind of family that cheers you on when you’re at your lowest and the kind of friends who always encourage you to go harder. They all see me as someone who’s destined to make something of myself and continue to embrace me with every performance.
Lastly, I would like to shout out anyone who’s ever believed in me. Whether you were an Instructor/Teacher who saw me as flower worth watering or Producer who entrusted me with the opportunity to portray a character in your project. I’m forever grateful for the support and assurance that there’s a community of people that GOD places along my path to walk with and stand behind me.
