We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Puryear and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sean, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Taking Risk I feel like is a necessary move to make when you are trying to grow in any aspect of life. I’ve took a big risk quitting my “safe” hospital job to managing a small business and I’ve felt more happy with coming to work everyday and I’ve had so many more opportunities that I’ve been exposed to that I wouldn’t have had I took that leap of faith.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a model and budding content creator. I express myself a lot through my pictures I feel most liberated in front of the camera coming up with intricate poses and ideas for photoshoots sets me apart from others. I started modeling on the campus of University Of Maryland Eastern Shore in the schools model troupe at the time. This is where I’ve gotten alot of runway training as well as doing my first fashion shows and productions. It took along time to perfect my walk and let loose in front of the camera. I’ve met so many different people from all walks of life throughout my journey in modeling which have shaped who I am today. Meeting and becoming friends with a lot of people different people from different parts of the world and walks of life has taught me to be more tolerant open minded on a lot of different issues as well as change some of my thinking on issues we tend to debate today.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
It’s so much that we could do in the city we would definitely start with food! I live sushi so I would start by visiting my fav sushi spot called Genki which is a lowkey spot that has amazing sushi. We would have to get a run in on the Atlanta belt line because running is one of my favorite hobby’s and activities that allows me to get some of the best views of the city. Some of the hookah bars here are the best because let’s be real who doesn’t like hookah! I love the fact that the city has so many options to go out for hookah and listen to some good music. We would probably have to end the week off at the Buckhead Saloon where they throw napkins in the air on Sundays as a tradition it’s something I’ve never came across anywhere else but there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would be remiss if I didn’t shout out the Boss Lady, The owner of Official Haute Mess herself Mo who gave me the opportunity to help run the business. She is my older cousin who’s encouraged me to follow my fashion aspirations whether it be modeling or retail management. I’ve been able to learn hands on so much about this industry by working under her wing.
