We had the good fortune of connecting with Scooby and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scooby, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Atlanta, Ga specifically Clayton County. My dad is a 2x Grammy nominated songwriter and has written for many artists so that played a big role in me wanting to do music and write as well as produce songs. I have always wanted to do music and be an artist.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others being from Atlanta, everyone sounds the same, and hearing my music is like a breathe of fresh air in the city. I pride myself on being versatile and not being put in a box. Right now I’m most proud of my album I dropped in November titled “Son Of A Genius” its my best body of work to date. I got where I am today with the help of my dad and my uncle (Ralph Stacy) They’ve helped me learn the music business and taught me how to put a song together from scratch. I don’t think anything would be worth it if it was easy, it has definitely been challenges where I didn’t know what to write or how to perform but like all things you practice until you get better and more comfortable with what you do. I’ve learned to trust yourself and be yourself. The more authentic you are the more people will relate and except you work. I want the world to know that Scooby from the Southside of Atlanta is great at what he does and is a even better person.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite thing to do is site see so I enjoy hiking. I’d take them to Cloudland Canyon or Mudcreek falls. As far as places in the city my favorite restaurant is R Thomas, they have the best grilled wings. Dos Amigos is another dope spot with great Mexican food, and I’m a huge sports fan so any sporting event going on we’d have to pull up.

My dad (Dennis Bettis), mom (Melinda), sister (Paisley) and my friends (Rico, Mykel, Kevin)
