We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I thought about leaving my career in Property Management and moving into a career in Real Estate as an entrepreneur, I was excited at the thought of no longer having a 9 to 5 and being my own boss. The flexibility of schedule and the though of my success or failure being in my own hands or hustle, was the most exciting aspect of starting my own business.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a Realtor. I have been in real estate for 4 years now. I recently established my LLC, Divine Homes Real Estate Group working as part of the Ben Kinney Team Atlanta since 2017. Our team is the #1 Keller Williams Realty in the U.S with locations all over the United State, Canada and the UK. I am continually excited about our mission “Delivering the Dream of Homeownership Everywhere.” Each year with mentoring and coaching, I have grown in my business goals and in my financial goals. I dedicated time to a certain schedule and tasks for the first 2 years to develop clientele, work with buyers and seller and overall grow my business. There is a quote “Success is simple not easy” and that is true. Nothing big in life you want comes easy. I use my faith, friends and family to help in my drive to overcome challenges that I face. I am a naturally optimistic person, so I always believe all things will work out and things good or bad happen for a reason. Some lessons along the way include: 1. Who you let in your inner circle matters both in your success and failure, 2. Only you are responsible for the actions you take or don’t towards your goals, always look to yourself, 3. Being an entrepreneur is the best decision I ever made and yet it will take drive and a strategic plan to keep it moving forward year after year. I would shout to the world, Sarah Miller, the Realtor is here to stay. I will continue to bring homeownership to the people that I meet who want to build wealth through real estate. Our brand is growing both in Atlanta and throughout the US. Our founder, Ben Kinney is dedicated to the agents that work with him day to day in a changing industry. We are committed to our clients and delivering the best service to all the great people we have the opportunity to work with.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
One of my best friends lives in Miami. I don’t get her to Atlanta as often as I like but if she comes it’s always a great time. Atlanta is a fabulous city! For us, relaxation, self care and shopping are most important. We would get manicures, pedicures, a massage and shop at some great stores. Atlantic Station, Phipps Plaza have some great brand names stores which she would love. We can also travel just 30 mins – 1 hour to hit the outlets in Woodstock or Locust Grove. Restaurants we would visit include Chops, J ‘Alexanders or STK because I love a good steak. She is now a vegan so I am sure she would love the Slutty Vegan. Atlanta is full of rich black culture and history so we would visit Auburn Avenue and the Apex Museum, The King Center and Ebenezer Baptist Church. We also have a number of music venues to visit like the Lakewood Amphitheater, Tabernacle and the Varity Playhouse. We could visit the World of Coke, the Georgia Aquarium or watch the Atlanta Falcons at the new Mercedes Benz Stadium. Another exciting addition is the expansion of the Tyler Perry Studios, so we could schedule a tour. If she wanted to see some Atlanta hip hop history, we could visit the Trap Music Museum. Lastly, before she left on a Sunday, we would eat brunch at the Sundial while overlooking the entire city. Atlanta is an ever evolving and growing city and I am happy to call it home! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My first shoutout goes to my parents, Joseph & Sandy Williams. They supported me both mentally and financially for a period of time when I first started in real estate. With their support and love, I was able to find my footing and pursue this new career path. I owe them so much and I am extremely grateful for their support. My 2nd shoutout goes to my team leader and friend, Karen Smyth. I met her in May 2017 soon after deciding to work into real estate full time. Her drive and determination motivated me to get moving in my own business. She offered me an opportunity to join her in building a new team in Atlanta and we have been in the mix together ever since. Her passion for people and focus on pushing others towards success is incredible. She balances marriage, family and career while leading a growing team towards greatness.
