We had the good fortune of connecting with Santyanna Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Santyanna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business started at a very young age for me. At the age of 14, I lost my mother to gun violence. Life as I knew it changed in the blink of an eye. As a child, no matter how you lost your mother it is a very dark, lonely place. I know oh so well how hard the journey without your mother can be mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I also know that there are so many kids & teenagers all around the world that is experiencing this same pain and suffering. So, I created Millennials Without Mothers. Millennials Without Mothers was created for the youth that have also their mother. My mission is to help the youth learn how to deal with the pain to eliminate the suffering. My goal and commitment is to do my best to turn their pain into power. My ultimate end goal is to open a youth center. “The Greatness Center for Millennials Without Mothers” The Greatness Center will be a place for the youth to come & know that they are not alone. The Greatness Center’s purpose is to empower & provide continuous support for motherless kids. The loss of my mother at a very young age was tragic and heartbreaking, but I knew that I had to use what I had been through to make a difference in this world. My difference is to give back to the youth. The youth is our future, and I am going to make sure that their future is filled with greatness.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of my perseverance. At the beginning, I thought starting a youth organization would be so easy. I was proven wrong. Not only did I struggle with my confidence that I could actually lead, I also struggled with making connections in the community. Both of those things are very important when it comes to a foundation. It took years for me to finally say, “Okay I’m doing this!” Some lessons I learned along the way is to have patience and to be prepared for whatever you ask for. When opportunity knocks you have to be ready. Mentally, spiritually, and emotionally. I want the world to know that Millennials Without Mothers is here and is one of the greatest youth organizations in the world. I want the world to know that my story is one of inspiration. This journey has not been easy but you have to always remember no matter how many obstacles life throw your way, you get back up and keep going. You can only lose if you give up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My top two places to visit would be The Battery Atlanta and Ponce City Market. Those are two places you can go to get amazing food, drinks and entertainment all in one place.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my mother and grandmother in spirit, Ms. Tomika Webb and Ms. Jurline Webb. They are my motivational force each and everyday. Even though they are not here physically to see me achieve my goals, I still want to make them proud.
