We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Prayer and time with God has and continues to help with my success. In fact, life without prayer is a non-negotiable for me. Prayer for me, is a spiritual weapon of mass destruction that really helps me to move from negative energy to a more positive mindset, whether in my business or personal life.

In terms of my business, I’m convinced that being my authentic self helps me to succeed. People want to see and interact with the real “me” and so it’s crucial that I show up for myself every single day. Honoring the woman that I am is very important and that involves embracing my flaws but also celebrating small victories daily.

Including affirmations as a part of my regime is also a habit that I’ve found to be very successful as well. They provide motivation and inspiration that allows me to push through, especially on those days when I question whether I’m actually being “successful.”

Success is relative but incorporating these habits has worked well for me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Speak Life on Purpose is a movement birthed in August of 2018 as I found myself lying on my living room floor. It is a God-movement designed to empower women to embrace a “think different, speak different” mindset. By adopting this mindset, they become prepared to change the trajectory of their lives. Speak Life on Purpose helps women daily by providing tools that equip them to move from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset.

Speak Life on Purpose founding scripture is Proverbs 18:21 because we believe, “…the tongue has the power of life and death.” Mastering mindsets and empowering women to understand the power of their words is one way we help women reshape and change how they speak.

Speak Life on Purpose was divinely inspired and came to fruition from a challenging season when everything in my life appeared dead. In that dark and dreary season, God was preparing me for the women that He would place in my path.

The mandate God has given me is to help women demolish old mindsets and to provide them with affirming tools that empowers them to use their own authentic voice to Speak Life over every area of their lives regardless of their circumstances. My life experiences allow me to impact, influence and transform lives of women from all walks of life.

At no point has this movement been easy. The challenges and daily battles were great but the “yes” I gave God wouldn’t allow me to quit. One of the things that Coach Ife tells me over and over is that “my life is my content” and I will never forget that. If I am to transform lives, then my life must be transformed first.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve lived in Richmond, VA for many years and there are so many places to visit.

Although Eggspectation is more than just breakfast, the breakfast/brunch menu is on point and the service is outstanding. I’ve visited several times and every meal has been simply delicious.

Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant is always a wonderful dining experience, especially the wine tasting prior to dinner. The ambiance is warm and inviting. It’s a great place for dinner with the girls or a romantic date night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I am not deceived by anything that I’ve accomplished. Without God, I would be nothing and so the credit belongs to Him. God has ordained every step of my life and I’m eternally grateful that He trusts me enough to assign me to transform lives and I won’t ever steal His credit.

Unfortunately, my parents and grandparents have passed away, so I didn’t have the experience of growing up hearing them cheer me on. But I had a praying grandmother that I know prayed for me every single day. I truly believe that much of who I am is because of her and her prayers. She’s not physically here with me but her spirit lives in me.

My daughter, Natasha has been my biggest cheerleader. She deserves credit for supporting me at my lowest and for pushing me to keep going no matter what. While she’s proud of me, I’m more honored to be her mother. Thank you, Natasha, I love you dearly! My biological family and so many of my friends have encouraged and supported me as well, but I want to publicly thank my Sissy, Toschia Thompson for praying for and with me and believing that I can change the world. I love you!

Ifedayo Greenway, my mentor, my coach and my dear friend, thank you for Empowering Me to Become MORE. You have pushed me beyond my level of comfort and helped me to become FEARless. I am authentically me because of your push and your guidance. Thank you for all you’ve added to my life and know that I love you!
