We had the good fortune of connecting with Sammy Tarantino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sammy, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued an artistic career because of my god given talents and love for art as a whole. From film, tv, music and video games I grew up in the nostalgic era so everything was artistic and creative, hands on!

The boom of the internet happened as I was getting older so back then we went outside, played with others or we were in after school programs most of my days spent being a creative kid if not sports!

Growing up in Philly that’s what you had to create a different world around you. My mom, dad and uncle all played a role in my musical ear or my imaginary eye! Uncle being a DJ and producer, my mom always wanted to be on broadway and my dad sitting me in front of the cable box and bootlegs I soaked up all the Saturday Sunday morning Marvin Gaye, prince days while during the week it was HOv, DMX, and bad boy! eventually said one day I want to do that, to share my thoughts and what I hear to the world in that way!

I wanted to create memories for myself and others, tell stories and give a voice to those who felt they didn’t have one! That’s what drove me to create The House of Tarantino and Cru Luv!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being a creative was hard first starting especially in 2008 but now I feel as though it’s like anything else “consistency is key”.

You might have days where your creativity is blocked and your not inspired to do anything but in those moments you gotta push threw and KEEP GOING when you have goals to achieve.

Money will come and go but not time or good people. Do with what you got and control what you can control you can’t stress what may go wrong because everything that can sometimes will. It’s best to be prepared for the worst and pray you’re set up for the success.

When I first started I had no clue of who I was, what I wanted to do I just started shooting, networking and getting outside of myself to welcome the world in. I worked with some of the best for free just to get in doors that I could never be in by myself. I shot videos in places that could have got me jail time but we created and we made it happen!

Everyone has their own time just gotta live at your peace I say and have done up until now. I’ve been shut down, disappointed, robbed and abandoned. I’ve been threw so many computer and hard drive crashes but Kept going because at the end of the day it’s about what you love to do!

If you have a gift you can remake a master piece even better i realized what you lost can only make you better.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost my mother after GOD of course is responsible for this drive I have. Half of what I do is for HER and my future legacy! No matter how bad it got she stood by me and is. MOTHER who always shows unconditional love. Days and nights without water, or electric or heat she went threw those and sacrificed for me to be good everyday.

My circle of friends from the photographers to the dancers, actors to the models, politicians to the business owners or just people i grew up with especially the woman in my life are the reason why I’m still here and able because without them I would’ve been drowned but the love and power they have kept me a float!

I’m nothing without them.

THE CRU I CALL THEM….
