We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was I feel the same as other business owners. I knew I wasn’t made to work your typical eight hour job. I felt that I was destined to do more with my life, so I’ve dedicated the rest of my life to doing everything in my power to not be tied down to a corporate lifestyle. That was the inspiration for me stating my own business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Growing up I truly struggled with who I am. Art was an escape from reality, I used to draw all the time in school…definitely not what I was supposed to be doing. During that same time I was being bullied for how small I was so I used to pretend I was not human. In my head I was anything, a queen, a knight, even a dragon rider. I never liked being human because the characters in movies I used to watch weren’t human. Finally the bullying got so bad that my parents put me in martial arts. I never was too into martial arts however I liked the friends I made and that was mainly why I went. It was there I was introduced to cosplay. A world where you could be anything you wanted to be and you were embraced. Then cosplay lead to modeling where I developed a passion for fashion, and even now it is like a ship sailing me to even more adventures such as writing my own novel and beginning a pursuit in acting.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely have to say the Georgia Aquarium and World of Coca-Cola. I always love getting to go to the Aquarium because it feels like a totally different world. I also enjoy the World of Coke not just because you can taste different Coke products from all over the world but because of it’s rich history. I am quite the sucker for historical things. I would also take them to some Colombian restaurants around the city. My personal favorite being La Casona. Definitely get some Lulo Juice, it is made from a fruit called well Lulo and it is my favorite treat to get because i8t brings back memories when I can visit my family in Colombia.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Those who deserve extra credit are almost too many to name. I have to give the credit to my family and friends they are always ready to help me whenever I may need it. I also need to give a shout out to my mentor Cameron Miles. He is my former martial arts instructor and he has always been one of my biggest supporters and someone who always believed in me no matter how crazy my dreams seemed to the world.
